How have you faired so far this year?
Have you managed to reach your goals?
What did you do well?
What can you improve on for the rest of the year?

This is how I did so far.

Goals
  • Lose 1lb per week
  • goal for the end of June - 182 lbs
  • Keep within my daily calorie goal without eating my cardio calories
  • Vary my exercise routine and resist the temptation to eat the calories gained
  • Work on improving carbs/protein/fat balance. I tend to be heavy on the fat ratio.

What I did well
  1. I weighed in at 179 lbs on 30 June so am ahead of my goal for the year end. :)
  2. Kept within my daily calorie goal, and mostly managed to avoid eating exercise cals back. :)
  3. Increased my steps with the help of my Fitbit. :) (I give myself one lazy day per week and I now average between 60.000 and 70,000 steps a week.)
  4. I have lost 8.5" off hips/waist.
  5. I can now get into clothes three sizes smaller.

What I can improve on
  • Work on improving my nutrition especially calcium and iron. I didn't realise that I was so low in these vital components.
  • Increase my daily steps.
  • Introduce more variety into my exercise programme.
  • Pre-plan menus to include 'treats'.
  • Stick to the plan.

Altogether, I have lost 41 lbs since starting this process. I have another 40 to go.

I had a hip replacement done on 4th Sept. I was delighted that all my hard work paid off and I recovered very quickly. I am building the strength up in the operated leg and am almost back to full capacity again.

I have now lost 55lbs in total.
