Sore Ankle Strategy?

Hello friendly runners,
I am new to losing weight and fitness. I'm doing a C25K, I'm on week 5 and my right ankle feels sore. The soreness is mild but constant when I am standing/walking and worsens when jogging. I feel it in all parts of my ankle joint, and it feels like it's probably mild joint inflammation. I iced it yesterday, and today I did not do my C25K jog. I've been doing ankle strengthening exercises with a resistance band for the past week too.
I am thinking I should stop jogging for a few days, focus on low-impact fitness in the meantime, and get back to my C25k program when the soreness disappears.
I read through the running injuries post, and it does not seem so serious as anything listed in there. I'm just wondering if you guys have any advice, and how you train when you are off for strains. Thanks!

Other useful info: I have not had my gait analyzed, but I was fitted for the correct shoes at a running store, I do focus on my form when I run, and that includes using a mid-foot strike.0
