Once you have a clear picture in your mind of what you want to create, the next step is determining what TYPE of board you are going to create. Do you want a revolving (changeable-see other post for ideas on this), or do you want a fixed board. (One that stays fairly consistent and only requires updating as your goals change.)

For this section, I'll focus on a fixed board. You can use many different materials for this, and it's entirely your preference. Poster board of any size works well. I've seen Vision Boards done on wood, I've even seen virtual boards... the only issue with these are in making sure you see them while you're in your auto as you drive without it being a distraction, etc. Vision (Dream) Boards should be posted in the form of photos from every important spot in your world.

I recommend beginning with simple poster board. Since we are concentrating on weight loss in this group, we will deal with a "One Goal Board" This means the entire board will be dedicated to your weight loss.

While a One Goal Board only needs to appeal to it's owner, there are a few different types to consider, as well as a few psychological tricks that may be used to increase effectiveness.

Different types:

1. Collage: This is exactly what it says..it's a motley collection of photos and words that have an organized randomness about them, which appeal aesthetically to it's owner, generating good feelings and an overall calmness and confidence to moving forward with the intention of seeing success. (All boards should generate good feelings and an overall calmness and confidence to moving forward with the intention of seeing success.)
2. Wheel of Fortune: For this board, you draw a large circle in the middle of the board, that encompasses the entire board, then draw a smaller circle at the center of the board. Now divide the circle, so that it appears to look like a wheel. Here you use the sections between the "spokes" to create different areas of your life. For example, if you're goal is to lose weight, perhaps you would use one section to reflect the physical and show a photo of someone riding a bike, replacing their face with a photo of yourself. In another section you may list Nutrition and show some of the foods or recipes you plan to consume. In another section you may list Spiritual and then list meditation and prayer practices you wish to implement. In the center of the circle should be a photo of something that represents your end goal.
3. The Starburst: This is an amazing board, which I've posted an example of here as a reference. It's actually an older one of mine, and is a career board. But it can be used for any gaol. rloeappqtswh.jpg
You begin by creating a square section in the lower left hand corner, and you state your goal there. Then you create a starburst that goes up and out across the board, and in this area you focus on what you want your overall goal to look like.
At the bottom right you want to create a "Foundation" .. in other words, where will you get your security? Anything worthwhile has a solid foundation. If you build a house on a foundation that isn't solid, it will always fall.
At the top, create the life you will be living once you achieve your dreams.
This board worked very well for me. Most everything manifested, although I'm still working on a few small items in the upper left hand corner. :-)

Additionally, it's good to note:

The mind works in a specific way. By placing the majority of your words on the right half of your board, you actually activate the left side of your brain subconsciously. Photos when placed on the left, resonate with the right side of your brain. A vision board should be random, but as you can see by looking at the example I provided, the way I balanced the board. )
