Chicken Thighs - nutritional data

I'm having 1 Chicken Thigh for dinner, with the skin. Fried in 1 tsp coconut oil.

Ive just tried logging it and the different listings on MFP are all WAY too different - everything from 150 cals to over 400 cals for 1 chicken thigh, and huge differences with the macros too.
I dont know how to log my chicken thigh now. Ive Googled it, but the same thing is happening - the differences are too great.

My Chicken Thigh weighed 250g raw, with the bone in. Obviously im not going to eat the bone, but im eating the skin.

Can anyone help me work out what nutritional data to add to my log... pleeeeeeeeease? As you all know, im on very low calories, very low carbs, and i have NO room for error, so this is making me nervous (i almost feel like not eating the darn thing until i can gauge how many calories im really eating).

Halp!!!

This should help: http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/show/893?manu=&fgcd= If that's not right, you can do another search on that site to find exactly what you need for your chicken thigh and how you're cooking it.

I weigh the thigh raw. Then subtract the bones or weigh the cooked meat off bone.

In general, for most entries on fresh produce on mfp, I enter «xxx usda gram» when searching. Then the usda with grams floats to the top of results. Hope it helps :)

I just weigh the raw and don't change it. that way I am getting a little less than I think I am... but I ALWAYS go by weight, not "large" or "Medium" cause who know what THAT means? The USDA is a good tip for getting some of the most correct.

My wife usually buys what's on sale, a "family pack" about 3 to 4 lbs. She takes the skin off, and bakes the whole bunch. She then cuts the meat off the bone and weighs the meat. She divides what's left over into meal size baggies and into the freezer for later use. We get the macros from a book called "Diabetes Meal Planning Made Easy" I don't like the skin, so my wife makes chips out of them for herself. I find the book's food list an easy place to find the info we need, The database here was costing me too many new gray hairs. :)

In the end i went for the USDA link @wheatlessgirl66 gave me. It seemed sensible. Im going to save it for future use. Its brought to my attention how seriously wrong some of the food listings on MFP can be. You would have thought folk would be more careful when submitting their nutritional data for a product - really annoying!

Yes, it's annoying that there are multiple, often wrong entries. It is what it is: A user driven site that's FREE. Although it's important to try pick "as accurate" entries as possible, at the end of the day, there are just too many variables and instances to get wrong. Exercise burns is one good example. So it's impossible to get perfect numbers anyway. Just pick the most honest entry you find and don't obsess over it :)

Sure. I noticed that about the exercise calories too - they seem to be way over-estimated? I have nothing to compare them to though so i could be wrong, but the numbers seem a little optimistic to me!
I'll soon know for sure - Ive just ordered a Polar heart rate monitor, with good reviews on Amazon, so hopefully this will give me a more accurate calorie burn.
But, like you say, i doubt any available data is 100% accurate.
Id like to be as close as possible though, so it looks like im going to have to cross-check all of the MFP entries.
