Wondering what percentage of carbs vs protein I should go with? Thoughts?

I don't want low low carb but I would like to cut my carbs down to lose weight a little quicker. Any suggestions?

I personally do a 20 percent carb, 35 percent protein and 45 percent fat ratio. I'm not sure if you would consider that low carb but it has worked well for me. Although I haven't used this macronutrient ratio the entirety of my time on mfp. I have lost over 110lbs in 6 months though and I strongly believe that can be attributed to my diet.

    I follow a low-carb diet. Initially I set a goal for 50-100 grams/day. After speaking with a nutritionist I now try for 30-50 gm/day.

Maybe try stepping back from your average now... If you're currently at 250gm/day you could step back to 150-200 gm/day for a week, then to 100-150, etc until you reach a point that works for you.

If you have any heart issues or major health issues talk to your doc before cutting back carbs too far. Some people lose weight very quickly on a low-carb diet and it can lead to electrolyte issues.

And make sure you get enough protein. I aim for 0.8-1 gm protein/ Kg body weight every day. Again, talk to your doc if you have any heart or kidney issues though.

I view my protein goal as a minimum and the carb goal as a daily maximum, and fill in the rest of calories with fats.

That was going to be my advice, low carb works but it comes with risks, always involve your doctor if you can, your body does need healthy carbs to function!
