Pre-op Sleeve

Hi! My name is Janice. I'm actually getting ready to have all my pre-op meetings for gastric sleeve surgery today. I will be having surgery the first week of Aug. I am very nervous and excited at the same time. At my heaviest, I was 260lbs at 5'2 1/2" tall. I wore a size 24W in pants (and they were tight) and a 2x top. I have yo-yo dieted my entire adult life. I am so tired of the struggle! I would like to hear about your journey immediately post-op to current. And congratulations to all who have made the decision to take this journey!

Welcome! Your stats are about the same as mine. I was 252 at a little over 5'2". I had the sleeve on 9/10/14 and I have lost 100 pounds since then. This is one of the very best things I have ever done. I've been in a bit of a funk lately but even with that my sleeve has helped me to not gain during my funk and that is something that has never happened to me before. Good luck with everything. Search the boards, read up on stuff that other people are talking about and use all of us as resources!

Hi Janice! Good for you for taking this step to improve your health. Unlike what "haters" will say, this isn't the easy way out, and it isn't easy. But, in my opinion and life it has been completely worth it.

agree with this 100%, only regret is that I didn't do it sooner
