This week has been going very well for me. A lot due to the fact that I've been starting to finally get our family in a good routine! I've stopped counting calories and focused more on enjoying my food when I eat it. It's very interesting to stop each time I reach for food and actually think, "Why am I eating this?". It helps prevent the mindless snacking. A few things sneak in here and there. I also find I keep wondering how I'm doing...and it's always solely integral to how many calories I eat. But my overall health is so much more than that so I'm looking forward to slowly revamping my focus a bit.

I got a good swim in, then a nice bike ride yesterday morning, and then my personal trainer in the afternoon. Mentally I still remember when I could put in 8-9 hours of training each week...but physically my body isn't to that point yet. I twinged my back a little during my training session. I already had today listed as a rest day, but now it will include no physical labor in the way of chores. A lot more sitting is in store for me today with occasional stretching thrown in.

Apparently I haven't posted in days. Just caught up with what I missed.

Marla I'm sorry that instructor was a jerk. I'm sure he was embarrassed but then you apologize. I was at an Aveda store (in their manufacturing plant) and mentioned to the sales lady that my hair had changed so the shampoo I used to like didn't work anymore. She commented that was normal with pregnancy. When I told her I wasn't pregnant she apologized & gave me free samples. Later I was laughing about it with my sister, who was there with me, because I knew the clerk felt worse about it than I did.

Val one of my friends on here stopped logging & started making good food choices and used hunger cues to guide her, and she's at her lowest weight of the year. She went through some personal stuff & had some setbacks with eating & exercise. But this is working for her.

I've been down. Trying to work through it. Discovered I like trail running so I'm going to explore more of that. I'm at the hair salon now (under the dryer while my color processes) and had mentioned that to my hairdresser/cousin who told me about a trail I'm going to check out tomorrow. It's between work & the gym so I can stop on the way. It's a 1.2 mile loop so I should be able to fit in 2 laps. There's a longer version too so I need to ask her once I'm back in the chair where to find that. I stopped at my running store & picked up some trail running shoes on my way here. They were on sale, which was a bonus. I've been wearing some Mizunos that I don't like very much because I don't care if they get ruined, but they're not great trail shoes. I bought them when I was looking specifically for treadmill shoes. They make the bottoms of my feet hurt after a couple miles even on the treadmill.

Sherry hope you're enjoying your trip.

Found this and loved most of the quotes:

I suddenly in the span of 20 minutes spiked a fever of about 105. I'm slowly doing better, but it's pretty miserable. I'm going to take more ibuprofen and a cold shower to lower my temp. At least I can stand without falling over and I know longer am shaking. Ugh.

I have been trying that type of eating since November. Other than the emotional eating from move, my weight usually stays the same and i mostly eat healthy. I dont get huge cravings most of the time because i dont say no.

I think once we are settled i will lose with it. I was too focused on the scale. I actually gave it away when we moved. I have been weighed a few times at doc and was surprised it has stayed pretty steady.

Crazy few days with relatives, back in Oregon. Happy to be at my temp home! We have the whole place to ourselves for a week while lady gone.

I havent done much exercising except walking last few days. Will be back at dance fri.
