Hey everyone! Been a bit of a roller coaster week! Wednesday is when my temp spiked to 105. I spent the next day wallowing in bed. It finally dropped to about 100/101 the next afternoon but I had to cancel my bike fitting which was disappointing. The next day was my birthday and my temp kindly dropped down to 99 at that point for me. I hung out at church that night and then at my parents house the next day. My mom and I got some pedicures while my dad watched the kids.

I spent Sunday and yesterday trying to get the house back into functioning order and had a slight headache last night. Woke up this morning with a full blown migraine. Thankfully, my kiddos were actually angelic and made their own breakfast and watched TV so I actually dozed and rested in a dark quiet room and I'm doing much better this afternoon. I still have a ton of grocery shopping to do but I don't want to push my luck at this moment. I may just go after hubby gets home so I don't have three kids with me. We'll see.

I was going to go running this morning...that didn't happen. I also didn't get my homework done either. But I'm trying not to act like a big failure and just take each day as it is. The house is back in order at least and I have food I can cook tonight so we won't resort to eating out. So I'll take that as a win and start tomorrow fresh! I have my bike fitting rescheduled for tomorrow and I'm excited!

School starts in a few weeks, so a lot of stuff is starting back up. But I'll have all three kids out of the house! I'll have so much time! My middle one is starting Kinder and will be gone all day and my youngest is starting preschool and so he'll be gone in the mornings. I may cry a little but it should hopefully make training a lot easier!

    Have a great day everyone!

Happy birthday Val ours must be a day apart, mine was Sunday.

Laura, i love my nia class here, only thing about my new area i dont like is no nia. I am trying to talk teachers of yoga and other stuff to take class to teach. All my friends want me to teach but then it would be a job!

They delayed building again so we looked at homes to buy and found a few remodeled ones we liked. driving to Arcata for one night to see homes tomorrow. I'll let you all know. There is one I like by pics in Humbolt Hill above Eureka in wooded area, has 1/2 acre and nice house, yard and deck. No lawn so yard work would be a lot of pruning but you could still easily leave to travel.

Realtor says it has steep travelway....that probably scared families away.

Only exercise today was walking around inside stores, too hot! Looking forward to 2 days of ocean!

I want to cry thinking about back to school, because that means summer is going by way too fast! In Minnesota public schools can't start until after Labor Day, so they're not starting up until September 8 because of how the holiday falls this year.

Sorry you've felt so cruddy, Val. You are absolutely not a failure. The biggest part of living a healthy lifestyle is taking care of your body. That doesn't automatically mean working out. Sometimes that means giving your body the rest that it needs. So really you were a success this week because you did not try to do more than your body was willing to give and instead took care of yourself the way that you needed to.

Happy belated birthday both Val & Marla!

Marla good luck with the house hunt! Anxious to hear what you think of the new potential place.

I had my annual physical this morning. It all went well. I was pretty sure I'm perimenopausal and my doctor agreed, so she's keeping me on one prescription I was already on and added in a second one to try to alleviate some of the symptoms I'm having. I also expressed interest in seeing a dietician, so she got me scheduled for that that as well. The dietician takes some appointments in my clinic so I was going to try to see her there (my clinic is about half a block away from my office) but the first opening there was August 27. I asked if I could get in sooner if I went to the hospital (which is still only a mile away) and I could get in there next Monday, so I took that. I wasn't interested in having to wait an extra month to get in.

I've only been on my bike once this summer - I did an out & back on a 2 mile stretch of trail and 3 miles into my injured leg started to hurt so I've been nervous about getting on my bike again. I promised my trainer I would bike tonight, so I decided to go do the same trail again. This time my leg was fine, or at least both legs hurt equally. When I run this trail I think it's very flat, and when I bike it I notice the hills. The 2 miles "out" is very slightly downhill, so tonight when I turned around to head back and realized I was going to be biking both uphill and into the wind, it pretty much kicked my butt. I'm so new to the bike I still don't have the hang of it, and I just couldn't find the right gear. I had originally intended on repeating at least part of the trail but by the time I got back to the start of the trail I was ready to quit. But I biked, and that's what matters.

Just made it to the coast, at breakfast about 1 1/2 hrs from where we are going down coast. Will let you know tomorrow about houses. Feels weird to have sweater on after months of dying from heat!

Laura dietician sounds good. Check into all pills for menopause, i went off mine after 5 yrs when it came out years ago about them causing breast cancer, hormones i mean.
