Hello all,

I would like to know how do you resist temptation if you are the one who is preparing the food for the family.

I find that I am wasting my fast days by giving in to temptation and eating beyond my required 500 calories.

I wish the was a better way to deal with this.. :|

Have you tried to fix only nutrition dense low calorie foods for your family - foods that you could work into your 500 calories. Today I ate a large plate full of sautéed onions & cabbage, raw cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, corn on the cob and baked jalapeno's. My husband ate all that as well as a chicken breast. Made us both happy. That being said, I don't have kids in the house and my husband has become a healthy eater. Wish I could have more input of you

For me, once I started losing weight with this method, that became my incentive. I always plan my meals beforehand on a FD so I know what my allotment is. I do better eating my calories at dinner...it's easier with kids or eating out. Plus I can't sleep if I'm hungry. If you are new to this, I would really commit to a few weeks and, once you see pounds dropping, you will find your resolve is stronger. It also helps knowing the next day you can eat!!!!

@ flossyruby1 that actually a good idea logging foods before I even hav them cn help a lot..I am very new at this, I believe once I get to see the results from it that wil motivate me.

Check out the thread titled Snaps' 6 Week Challenge (or something along those lines). Another challenge is starting Monday. A few others are going to join. It might help to do it too to help you find your "groove" with 5:2. I found there was some trial and error with figuring out what worked for me. For example, some split their FD calories at lunch and dinner, some eat low carb, etc. my FD fall on days when I have dance class. I can skip breakfast, go to class, come home by 1-1:30. If I'm about to chew off my arm ;), I will have a cup of miso soup which holds me over for dinner. I find it the toughest around 3-4. But I remind myself that hunger is transient. It doesn't last forever! I also like to refer back to my progress to remind me how much I've lost. It isn't worth it to me to cave and potentially sacrifice a 27 lb weight loss. Good luck!!
