First fail- what now?

Said it last week it was coming lol. Jinx! Anyway, overhead press. Not a big surprise there.
4-4-3-4-4 @ 105 lbs for me.

So now what?
If I understand this correctly and from advice given in a post in the fitness boards, I try this weight next time again. If I fail, that's fail number 2. Try it again the following week at same weight. If I fail. That's fail 3 and I should de-load next time.

Is that legit?

Its not 3 sets in row like the fail I had tonight is it?

Also, is it weird Im kinda glad? Is this where it gets good? lol

Thanks for the clarification.

Answered your own question. I'm about to fail on OHP as well. Did 140 last time and could only get 4 on the last set. Might make it next time but when I add the next 5lbs that's probably it.

As you said...Same wight next time (2), if that's a fail try once more (3), which is three fails in a row, then de-load 10% for that exercise The fails are for 3 sessions in a row, not 3 reps

If you have a smartphone the app is free and is a good way to track your progress. It also deloads for you once you "fail" 3 times and allows you to switch bench and overhead press to 2.5 pound increases instead of 5 after you get to where you are failing to make it more achievable each day.
