Fortified Cereals

Does your body really absorb the minerals, specifically iron, from fortified cereals? I'm anemic and chowed down on some Cheerios this morning in an effort to boost my iron. I usually eat oatmeal or something less processed, but I'm fine with eating more Cheerios if they really provide the iron content that they say they do.

    Are you a vegetarian? If not, meat and fish would be the biggest bang for your buck as far as iron is concerned. But there is also spinach, pumpkin seeds, lentils, quinoa, and loads of other foods with iron. Personally, I'd say if you prefer the Cheerios, go for it, but there are also tons of other options out there.
