So this guy has 3.5 miles left on his 30 mile swim in shark infested waters and he has to call the swim quits because a great white started circling him. It's known as the Farallon Islands swim.
To put it into perspective, the English Channel swims are approximately 21 miles, roughly the same water temp, but no great white sharks (to my knowledge).
To put it in further perspective, when I was googling the story, I found a few "Great White Adventures" boats that sell excursions by boat at the Farallon Islands because its known to be such a Great White Shark infested area.

Indeed. That would suck. I'm still pondering the 30 mile swim. Much less the ocean and the sharks!0
