Why Can’t I Lose Weight? – HTLW 12

this one sums up all six of his long and very technical youtube videos into one easy fast read.

Maybe I can grasp dieting (even lc) isn't the center of, or the solution to, weight loss.

+++++++++++++

I think younger people love him because he is so anti establishment..uses a lot of slang, and doesn't act all Doctor-like… says stuff like " well, if your boss is a jerk…" which takes people off guard.

    I believe this. I think taking hydrocortisone for a year greatly accelerated my prediabetes. I gained weight (20lbs), took steroids, and developed a great deal of hip and knee arthritis pain over two years, and then poof, I'm borderline diabetic. I was definitely eating too much sugar too... It was my own perfect storm. ;)

    Yes! Good share, ty. I really, really like the big point he's making that fat loss is an often multi-factorial process. Many, many choices taken on a daily bases, not just ONE thing that is a gamechanger. This is why I always recommend to experiment, tweak until you find what YOUR body responds to. Too often I see that people get very married to their chosen method without results. I did that too! I wasted at least 9 months, waiting for a fat loss that didn't happen with the method I had chosen. Not until I dared try something completely else, did the fat loss start to happen with a vengeance at 1 kg/week. Luckily I found my key, but if I had stubbornly kept to what was NOT working, then...I'd maybe be in the obese BMI by now.

    It has not been easy. There's been lots of mistakes on the way. Stacking 3 protocols in order to shed fat is not desirable. No-one told me to do so. I found my method by trial and error. But the booksellers, bloggers and weight loss gurus usually only have 1 product/method to sell at a time. And they all want you to believe that if you follow THEIR method, you'll reach your goals. I wholeheartedly believe that for metabolically challenged people like me, experimenting with a wide variety of techniques, customizations, food types and quantities, training, stress reduction etc, etc is the key to reach the goals I've chosen for a healthy body and soul.

    I like that Fung, although he's biased towards his practices, says that is not the one size fits for all. I'm all for personalized treatment. Whatever works for someone else, might not work for you. But you can try it, who knows what will happen. Trying something is just that...a trial. I wish I had understood much earlier in life that the willingness to take a few calculated risks or even leaps of faith are crucial for growth.

    FAILING SOMETIMES IS THE ROAD TO SUCCESS.

    ^^^^ Yes! I'm still trying to figure out what will work for me, and this article is very helpful toward that end. Thanks for posting it, @Ketogenicgirl.
