Fat clothes

I seem to have an over abundance of clothes that are now too big. Do you save yours or donate? I spend alot of money on them so I am a bit hesitant on getting rid of them. On the other hand, I never intend to get big enough to wear them again.

I regularly go through my clothes and get them out of my closet. I hand down some of them to one daughter who is bigger than me, and the rest gets donated to charity.
I agree that I don't want to get big enough to wear them again. I feel firmly entrenched in this woe so feel confident that the scale will continue to go down. I don't have very many decent clothes left in smaller sizes than I am now, so will face having to buy many new clothes in the future. I want to have adequate space in my small closet to put these new clothes. So I don't want the old stuff in there at all.0 -
Find a local facebook selling page and sell them on to help fund your new wardrobe ...0

I mainly donate mine to the local church's care closet though or just give them to friends and coworkers. I hate trying to sell stuff.

I second selling your nice clothes to buy new clothes! Look for a Facebook "yard sale" page for your city/town.
I had this discussion with my daughter yesterday. On one hand, I hate to get rid of them, but on the other, I don't want to have clothes at the ready if I started gaining weight back at some point. It would be too easy to deal with it if I have a bunch of clothes to wear.
I just got a new pair of "hand me down" jeans from one of my daughters yesterday that are now my goal to fit into. I can get them on, but they are not flattering right now. I feel like I should take a "before" pic in them... Implied floatation device and all! Lol I will love achieving that NSV when I can wear them without the ring of flab spilling over the top!0 -
Depending on sizes, one of the more legit places on FB is a "Fat Too" group...there are ones up and down from that range, so you can find the groups online. They are closely monitored, and people are removed from the groups regularly for not sending stuff, for sending stuff messed up, for not paying, etc. I've not personally sold anything there, but if you have brand named or really good quality clothes, I'd recommend this an option. You might find some things in your new sizes, too...0

I donated mine, just because I wanted them gone, but I usually shop at Goodwill, so it wasn't a huge heartbreak. The down side is that I am up two (gasp) sizes fro my low last year, so I only have one pair of jeans that fit. It's a good motivator though.0

I have a consignment shop that I use for the better cloths. I donate the rest to Goodwill. I don't keep the bigger sizes around!0

Donate them! It's additional incentive to keep on track.0

Thank you all for your input. Gonna go through the closet and make room for new stuff!!!!0

Clear them out-- you need room for new clothes! Let go of what doesn't work for you anymore, in all realms of life.
You could try a clothing exchange party-- invite many people of all sizes (if they're all the same gender it makes mass trying-on of clothes in one room less uncomfortable!), and ask them to bring a friend or two along. The more the meerier, and the wider array of sizes and styles you'll have. Everyone clears out their closets and brings what doesn't fit, what they don't wear, or what they feel is out of style, etc. Divide the clothes into size piles spread out a bit, and it's a mad dash of looking for "new-to-you" clothes. It's so fun to see what outfits people pull together from the hodgepodge-- my decade old tiny vest that I thought would ever be in style looks awesome on someone matching it with a cute shirt and jeans. People can take as many or as few "new" pieces as they need/ want, no need for bookkeeping or counting what everyone brings. What's leftover can be donated to a woman's shelter, good will, etc. We did this often when I was a student-- we called it a 'naked lady party' because we'd organize one whenever someone looked in the closet and thought "I'd rather go without clothes than wear anything in here!"0 -
Massive drops in the Salvation Army box. I gave away all of my clothes

Try to find others that wears that size or even have a goal of that size perhaps and get some money for the nice ones.0

I donate them -- if you have business attire there is dressforsuccess.org and another alternative is to donate to a domestic violence shelter - some of the women leave their abuser with just the clothes on their back.0

I keep some of my jeans and tops and stuff in larger sizes. Pack them away in a garbage bag and put them in the spare room. Because - well - none of us PLAN on gaining weight again but the reality is it can happen, and very very easily. I lost 60+lbs, then failed miserably over XMAS, took months to get back into the swing of Keto again and ended up gaining about 27lbs back. I have jeans that range over about 8 sizes and I keep them all.0

I donate mine to goodwill and feel good about it. I let my mom and sister go through clothes first.0

I used to sell my higher quality stuff on eBay, especially if I hadn't even bothered removing the tags... but it takes too long sometimes, and I want that stuff gone. I throw it all in a garbage bag and send hubby to the nearest donation bin. There are some fantastic suggestions above!0

I have been donating them to the Salvation Army as soon as I grow out of them. I am not going back and I figure my career wear will be helpful to those who need it.
Plus, I just don't have the time to list, sell, and meet up/mail.
There are a few really nice dresses that I am keeping and plan to get tailored. It's hard to find great dresses, so I will hang on to those.0
