Laura - I definitely am the same way! When I ban something it's instantly what I want! But as I learn to actually eat purposefully that has changed a lot. Basically, I still love desserts, but now I won't eat something just because it's a little sweet. I have standards so the cheap stuff that almost taste like cardboard is not worth it to me.

Again with only posting the first part! Luckily I now type it on a different program and then copy paste. Here's the rest of my post!

Laura - I love your new routine! It's amazing how revamping a routine makes everything feel new and exciting!

Marla - Buying a house is always intimidating as there are always those little surprises. When we moved into ours, we discovered the water hookup to the fridge was leaking behind the wall and under the carped in the room behind it. My hubby fixed it pretty easy but it was scary. However, this house has ended up being absolutely perfect for our family and I love it! So don't give up hope! hopefully once you get all the information everything will work itself out!

So, I went to get up at 4:15 this morning to get my long run in. I can't stand running for longer than 20-30 minutes on a TM and it's supposed to hit 115 here today so I definitely need to get out before the sun comes up. Of course I slept through my alarm so no run this morning. I'm still going to swim and do my strength training. Tomorrow is supposed to be a rest day but I'll do my run then. It's endurance run so my goal is to keep my heart rate down. So I should still be able to recover from that during the day tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! It's the start of my hubby's work week and I hope he doesn't collapse from all the heat! Being out there in a hot uniform with 30 pounds of gear in this heat has me worried a bit!

Lol with Oct date and no one noticing!!

I went to Nia, nothing new on house yet. Feeling bored and cooped up inside, air still yucky. We have done everything we can think of inside that does or doesn't cost money. I know, you that are working are saying i wish being bored was my problem! I know i would have thought that :)

I get so restless when I feel trapped inside the house! Mostly here it's a blizzard though, not the air quality.

Val I feel the same way about desserts. If I'm going to splurge on calories it better really be worth it. I used to feel if I took something (like a cookie) I was obligated to eat it, but have gotten over that.

I got up at 5, went to the gym & rowed then had my session with Jason, showered at the gym, and by 7:30 was driving to the Mayo Clinic for a running analysis. He tested the muscle strength in my legs, videotaped me (back & side views) running first how I usually run then started a metronome & had me maintain the same speed but increase my cadence to match the ticking, then we watched the tape back. He measured angles, studied foot strike, etc. That confirmed what the muscle tests said, plus showed a few more issues. He then had me do 8 exercises that will strengthen me where I'm weak. He wants me to do them 3x a week on non-running days, so Monday, Wednesday & Friday I'll have to work them in. I just need a resistance band & he sent me home with some (progressive resistance as I get stronger).

I also need to work on cadence because just that switch fixed 3 issues. I'm now in a hotel in the Twin Cities (about 1/3 of the way back home from Mayo) for the night. I'm exhausted.
