Wow, the misinformation is baffling.

This did my head in. What. Even. Is. This?
There are some good rebuttals in the comment section, thank goodness.

I can't even read it. I get a constant pop up video. I close it and it immediately comes back up.0

I love the comments at the bottom of the article!0

I'm so glad that I'm not on "The Keto Diet." This freaking doctor coined his diet that, does it in an extreme way, and it is being mixed up with LCHFMP and/or a Ketogenic Diet/WOE. Of course, the article does not put this whack job doctor's 800 calorie "the keto diet" in quotes, because heaven forbid they'd give correct information... Good gracious.0

This article is so poorly written it made my head hurt.
Thanks for messaging it to me KnitOrMiss so I could actually read it.0 -

Thanks for the link. Thankfully I did not recognize the diet described. Low carb eating must really be hurting the cash flow of some for such BS to be in print like a feeding tube. I have read on this subject hundreds of hours over the last year and never once was a 'feeding tube" mentioned for example.0

I agree! I've never come across any information about opting for a feeding tube. I've also never found any resource that suggested eating only 800 calories. I've only heard that from some MFP members that mention they are on an 800 calorie diet being doctor supervised. As a matter of fact, I every calculator I've used to calculate macros from the sources I read, suggests I eat more calories than I even choose to. I just can't eat as much as it wants me to on a daily basis. I use a combination of calorie goal and hunger queues.
This was clearly written with bias.0 -
You're welcome on sending the article, though I feel a little bad since it was such crap/headache-inducing!!
I wish there was a way to write directly to this "healthline" source. That way we could actually prove that their article was inflammatory and propaganda, etc. I even clicked the link to "Why (superfoods) Bulletproof Coffee Become So Populare (Hint: It has nothing to do with nutritional science!)." I really wish I hadn't... According to them, coconut oil/MCT oil has zero nutritional benefit aside from being a fat that easier to break down. One nutritionist even said that if she was recreating bulletproof coffee, she would do it with olive oil, because at least that is healthy fats. Somewhere after that, I thought my head was going to explode, so I stopped reading and closed the browser from further temptation...0 -
I have heard of the feeding tube diet craze before--it was a hot news item about a year ago. They interviewed several brides who were doing it to lose weight in the final weeks before their weddings. In agreement with the article--yes, that's absolutely insane/silly/ridiculous.
However, never have I heard of this as the "keto" diet, and the blatant misuse of the term in this particular article is abhorrent.0
