Slow and steady is awesome Sheesh!! 1/2 lb a week is 26lbs in a year!!!

Dental appt went well yesterday. No infection or dry socket. It's healing. Doc says that he was sweating quite a bit when he extracted the tooth so he's anticipating another few days (remainder of the week) for me to have pain and discomfort. Happy there's nothing else going on - unhappy that the pain's not yet gone. I have my 3 hour hair appt tonight. We usually order dinner so I'm not sure what we're going to do. Thinking I can survive chinese if I order hot/sour soup. With my hair appt there will not be time to get any walking in tonight (I'm even worried I'll be able to stay awake for it).

Hope you all are doing well.

OK...so there it is. I've got to get this pain under control and start eating per my plan. This obviously isn't helping.

I cannot tell you how frustrated I am. It did not seem like a bad week. I moved more than the week before. I tried to get fat and sugar down and protein up.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday. Got an early call from my neighbor who just moved (the ones that are like family) and she needed a favor. So I had to jump in clothes quickly and take off. It was another lovely day though, and I did get my full 3 miles outside hilly walk in last night.

Hubby just left for his appointment at the pain clinic and I'm going to try to get a shorter walk in this a.m. before work starts. I absolutely have to get this scale moving down. Help!!!!

Oh my gosh, Lois. . mouth pain is the WORST. It's very hard to eat on plan with that going on. Try to be patient . . soon it will be healed.

Hang in there Sarah. If you're in calorie deficit and keeping sugar and carbs low, the scale will move down. It just goes so dang slow at our age! Maybe try to do some things slightly differently . . adjust the macros, incorporate some intervals into your walks. Our bodies adjust . . so we have to shake things up :)

Hubby left at 4:00 this am for fishing with friends in Alaska. I'm a free woman! I only worry about how he'll manage his pain while there. I hope he has fun. I've planned to try some new classes at the rec center, lunches with friends, and some shopping. I wish I was further down in size, but I'll mainly be shopping for workout clothes, so maybe not a big deal.

    Have a great week.

Good morning, ladies. Well, yesterday I got out for two outdoor walks pulling those hills. :) Both times, I did not have enough time to do the full route, but did about 70% of it both times. And I managed to have a good day consumption-wise, too:

    25% Protein
    48% Carbs
    27% Fat

If I can keep this up, I'm sure that I'll head back down. The big issue of course is breaking that 144 barrier where I seem to get trapped.

Sheesh, sounds like we're still experiencing some of the same things. My hubby went to the pain clinic yesterday. His neck vertebrae issue is now causing weakness in one arm and hand. If this continues, the surgery he has tried to stave off may be needed. This morning he woke up feeling better than he has in several weeks. Our cooler, dryer spell is ending tomorrow, so he was out watering and feeding the flowers. I'm trying to get him not to over do.

Mentioning plants, the wild ferns out back have that end-of-summer look now, and it's darker now when we roll out in the morning. Fall is coming.

OK ladies...the weekend is upon us and we've got stuff to do....ok...so I'm feeling just a bit better. The back also went out (probably from sleeping so dang much). Had an adjustment the past three days. hoping it feels good to either hike at 630 tomorrow morning or TRX at 8am. I've got to do something. I'm starting to go a little crazy.

Sarah, I just looked at your post and your carbs seem a bit high. Is that your normal breakdown? maybe bump up the protein to 30-35% and reduce the carbs. Just a suggestion.

Sheesh - your weekend sounds delightful!! Have fun and I LOVE shopping for workout clothes (my true weakness as was identified in the selfie challenge in July). So be sure to enjoy yourself.

My coworker sent me a countdown timer to our first trail race - 5wk 1 d 15h 30min 53sec - DO I REALLY NEED THE PRESSURE?!?!? Come on!!! With the darn tooth mouth issues and now the low back...I'm a gettin' nervous. And I still haven't played with my new toys (6" hurdles, cones, stretch strap and an agility ladder (not pic)). My plan was to do them in my backyard where I could jump in the pool in between when I got too hot, but the darn mouth has interfered with those plans!!! BUT...since we're still 108-110 (ok over 105 who really cares - its HOT), the pool is still usable (though I haven't used it). So I need to get my butt in gear. Thinking with my back I may just get in tonight and move around to keep it loose. Good idea...need to follow through!!

    Hi, Ladies,

Well the temps are going up, but were not as bad yesterday as we had feared. We spent most of the afternoon in the pool, however. The water was perfect and we did a lot socializing with neighbors, so it was a fun day.

Lois, my goals for intake are 45-55% carbs, 20-30% fat, and 20-25% protein. That seems to work for me if the carbs are fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains. If I can stay at the upper range for protein, the lower range for fat, the remainder for carbs (and the carbs are good carbs), then I'm a very happy camper.

My downfall is dairy and the worst of that is ice cream. I do not like butter pecan ice cream and hubby loves it, so that has been my solution lately rather than make him go without. I also love bread and butter and so have to watch that.

Work may be little intense next week. My client has been so good lately, but on Friday she was doing the calling me wanting answer to something immediately. I was on the line with the manager of one of the services we use and during the last 10 minutes of that call, my client called me twice and sent me two e-mails asking the same thing. Honestly. What if I had taken a 15 minutes break from this desk? I like this lady (most of the time) and worry when she shows this type of obsessive behavior.
