Keto sticks and blood ketones

I keep reading online that as you become fat adapted that urine keto sticks will stop registering in the positive purple range.
I feel like I am keto adapted, and my blood ketones are between 2 and 4 every morning. I have all the signs that are documented in books, on line, in here that I am keto adapted.
Why then are my urine ketone sticks still dark purple (the darkest purple one)? It's bugging the heavens out of me. Shouldn't they be lighter now (2 months or so later)?

Because the online sources are mostly wrong.
Ketones in the urine is a function of acid/base balance by the kidneys. You have too much ketoacid in your blood, so they're getting dumped.
Personally, I wouldn't target a high ketone load, but that's just me. You simply don't need a lot.0 -
After eleven months I have decided 1-2 range is just fine for my pain management. I use a $15 alcohol breathalyzer off eBay to cheek my acetone levels to know that I am still in ketosis or not. It saves me a prick and a $1.50 ketone test strip that I may use every few months. I did it daily for about a month last year.
Yes most medical medical advice is less than fully factual and even less so from online sources. Even some research is tainted but if one reads enough research the facts start to rise to the surface.0 -
It's probably highest first thing in the morning too. Doesn't mean it will stay there all day. Mine are always dark in the morning or if I have a super duper low carb day.0
