Not always easy to talk about

I have gotten to know many of you through mfp and have grown to treasure the friendships that I feel I have made here. I am sad when I see a friend who hasn't been active for a while (I know I slacked off, but I was still here). It makes me wonder if they abandoned efforts or if something else (God forbid) has happened. I, personally, would want to know if something happens to any of you! My solution for this is going to be that I will give my mfp log on info to my best friend who can (in the event anything happen to me) post a message letting my friends know why I haven't been active. This is just a recommendation because I care, but is purely individual for each of us.
You have all become special to me! Thanks for listening so well! Keto On!

We are all human, and stuff happens. Just my thoughts on the matter. Thanks @KittensMaster!0

I tried a PM this morning but it still fell short.
If/When they come back then we'll get to welcome them back
with open arms.0 -
I think that's a great idea, Karla.
On a related note, sometimes I entertain the paranoid idea that our board may get shut down at some point, and maybe we should designate a rendezvous point elsewhere on the internet. Maybe similar screennames there would help. I don't know where this would be, so it's a half-baked idea at best.0 -
I always try to let people know if I won't be around for an extended period of time. I may not log in for a day or two but I'm still reachable on here. I like the way you think! I often wonder about some people who were very vocal and then just disappear :-/0

I tend to share my personal email address with those to whom I'm very close. that way they can nag my family who should take over or monitor my accounts.0

People disappear for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes you just need a break from reading about being on a diet, talking about being on a diet, or obsessively counting, weighing, and recording everything. Sometimes you just lose motivation and end up gaining a few pounds. Or sometimes people create a new account. I did. I lost 60lbs, then kinda fell off the wagon for a few months and when I came back I made a new account. Mostly because I wanted to start fresh, and not reflect on how much I'd "failed".0

Yes @mlinton_mesapark I have been on other forums and got to know a bunch of folks really well. Enjoyed the support. Then one day they upgraded the site and my group was gone! I never found them again! That was heartbreaking, for me!
If anyone wanted to PM each other email addresses, or other contact information they want to share. Maybe that's a better idea. I just don't want to lose contact with my friends. I feel that even if I decided to take a break that an email from one of you would be super special to me. Thanks for all of your understanding. I hope I'm not violating any policies with this topic! Hugs!0 -
There is a Facebook group that branched off from here. I know I was quieter on here for a while, but my FB friends knew I was still alive and kickin' by the sheer volume of baby/toddler/preschooler pics I continued to post.0

Yeah, I love all the happy baby pics!!! They totally make my day. @Karlottap, sent you a PM with my RL contact data. If anyone else wants it, shoot me a message, or just stalk me on FB. I'm in the Grease Riders group.0 -

@EbonyDahlia That is one of the reason I LOVE this group in particular. We aren't always talking about diet stuff. There's real life stuff here, too, and I'm happier for the mix!! I tend to throw myself more into the mix when I've fallen off the wagon, because my friends here pull me back in. If I hibernate away from everyone, I'm headed for some serious trouble!! And luckily, our friends here all take from our cues. If we say we're back, no rehashing past transgressions, they'll start anew and follow us again!0 -
