Alright kids! It's another new month...does it seem like this year is flying by?? Hopefully we all have some cooler weather headed our way. What are your goals? What are your plans for the month??
I'm setting my goal of 100 miles again.
Just 39 days from now, my boyfriend and I are going to be on a cruise and hitting tropical beaches. I need to get back in gear. I don't see a major weight loss or body change happening before we go, but I definitely need to get my legs back to being used to a lot of walking...and I hear walking in the sand is even harder (I'm not a beach person at all - pasty white and all - but we have at least 3 days of the vacation that is planned as sun/sand days). I have a friend doing a 1/2 marathon in November as well and she asked me to join her. I've done 4 previously and November is definitely easier than April, but I know that I'm no where near being able to take a 13 mile walk!! I would love to be able to join her, but I think I'm destined to support from the sidelines and plan one for next spring instead.
Happy walking everyone! And welcome back fall weather (I hope!).

You can manage some body change and weight loss in 39 days for sure. Just be faithful to stuck with your allotted calories and up that exercise a little more.
You can drop a dress size in 5 weeks time. Good luck to you.0 -
Kicking off September in a good way: 5.27 miles on the 1st.
Thanks Vicky! I'll be happy with my current clothing fitting a little better. The pants I put on for work today are borderline uncomfortable! I am really trying to plan our meals and cut out the extra calories that poor decisions/planning result in. I've also got to get my behind back to the gym. Small steps.0 -
When my kids were going to school I felt September 1st was like starting a new year. Now my kids are 27 & 29 - but I still feel like it is a new year and new beginnings.
August is behind me, I now have 8 months over 100 miles, some I have made 120 - it feels good to be moving and exercising. November 1st curling starts - so some strength training will start now. On top of the yard work I have to do in the next couple months I will also start lifting weights.
My goal for September will be 120 miles (15 over 10,000 steps)
Sept 1 - 2.8 miles (slow start but good for a work day)

Great first day. Sounds like you are getting this done. Sound approach.0 -

My knee was hurting last night and I thought "oh no". I am not going to be able to get my steps in. But the pain miraculously went away and I have gotten in over 5 miles so far today. Yeah me!!!0

Awesome starts!! Lily - I don't have kids, in school or not, but I love fall, and for me, even though our temps have jumped back up near 100 this week, September is fall!! I love fall clothes, the smell in the air, falling leaves, and the occassional pumpkin flavored treat! September does feel like a new beginning. I've had 3 months of falling below 100 and do not plan to do that again!!!
Vicky - glad you were able to get your steps! I'm amazed at how often I hurt or don't have any motivation and then figure out that it's mind over matter. (And the pains usually go away when I quit focussing on them as a reason I can't do something!).0 -
2nd - 5.11 miles = 10.38 miles so far!!!0

3rd - 5.15 = 15.53
I'm pretty proud of myself! That's 4 days in a row of hitting my 5 miles! I don't recall ever doing that in all the time I've had the fitbit! It actually died about 300 steps short of my 5 mile mark (I was watching to keep my workout going until I reached it). I had to plug in to charge and missed some steps, too.0 -

Had my lazy day after work yesterday...and we went and sat and talked to my boyfriend's parents for a few hours, so my steps for the 4th weren't great (basically what they'd been the last couple of months). Today, we are going to finish painting our house and deep clean. Should be a good day!!
4th - 2.43 = 19.960 -
Week 1 - 31.620

My houseguest is gone, so I hope to get myself back on schedule and get my step goal at least 6 days a week for the rest of the month. So far this month I have about 45 miles but only 3 days at goal. My goal will be 200 miles for the month.0

5 - 3.04
6 - 5.07
7 - 4.15
Total = 32.22 miles! I think that's the best week I've had in a very long time, if not ever!!!
My goals in the house this weekend were bigger than we were able to accomplish (and we went to Home Depot x 4, Lowes x 3, and did some other shopping for our vacation next month), so still some stuff to do this week. Looking ahead, we will be visiting my family Saturday, so about 6 hours in the car round trip...need to build my miles this week to compensate for that!
*Whew* I thought things were going to slow down when fall got here!0 -
