September: Simple & Straightforward

Four months

16 weeks

124 days

No matter how you look at it, that's what left of 2015.

I do NOT want to be at my current weight going into 2016; I DO want to get back to LOSING weight and improving my overall health. I have weighed in, reset my ticker and remembered why I came here three years ago. Enough. Now is enough.

September is going to be pretty simple and straightforward for me - one goal, one priority:
start losing the excess weight I carry.

Anyone else want in, more than welcome.

Wow!! a 124 Days! Where did it go!!

    I want to be IN...
my biggest, simple priority is getting my Glucose numbers down and consistent and I believe the weight loss will follow. The meds are doing their part...(not messing with me) and now it is my time to do my part.

Thanks for the inspiration, Snoozie! Kinda like K.I.S.S.

LOVE your priority Gail.. and the words you chose to state it

"The meds are doing their part...(not messing with me) and now it is my time to do my part.

One priority. One focus. Love it.

    Awesome.

Hope you will share your success thru the month Gail.

Thanks for getting the month started Snooozie. You sound very determined and I know you will succeed!

    Gail- love your goal !

I'm going to go back to the 1%,goal for me. So will go by last week's weigh in and aim to not only keep that loss off but lose another 1% by the end of September.

Wish I could send you some from here G - have a lot! Do hope you get your refill soon; testing can totally keep us motivated seeing those numbers go down and down and down!!

btw did I mention I love the phrasing you used?? :)

On track with my one priority this month; trying to walk faster rather than longer and will only be weighing myself once a week. Focusing on the solution, not the problem, and no longer separating regain/original/etc - simply losing weight.

Good morning, PEEPs , on this beautiful September morn... I love this time of transition between Summer and Fall...I get excited to get up and feel a bit of crispness in the air...gives me hope that this heat is on it's way out...oh, yeah, I will be the first to complain about the COLD when it comes.....Brrr.....lol

I got a good number from FBG this morn....119 !! much better than the 167 : ( of the last few mornings before I ran out of strips. I ate only 2 pc of pizza for lunch, with a small protein snack for dinner, so I was under 100 carbs for the day...I am going to try to follow that method today and see how it goes...(no pizza though,) but a small qty at night for sure.. with a bit of exercise thrown in for good measure... still a pound away from ticker weight...

Hoping you all have an awesome week!

Vacation is over today :( ...lol. ...getting ready for work tomorrow. ....we came back last Thursday. ..and I did go out in the ocean. ...swam with the fishes...and survived. ...no sharks. .... I feel bad that I hadn't gone out sooner. ...what was I afraid of all those years. ... Lots of fried fish. ...and a little too much shopping. ...got a pair of pants in a smaller size. ..even though they're stretch they fit really great and make my "tail" look great. ...giggles. ..and did pick up a couple of comfortable clothes

    Good morning Hatters!

What brought me here was the desire to take control of my health after being diagnosed with diabetes. At that time my motivation was fear based. What I am happy to notice lately ( after slacking on my healthy choices for awhile and not feeling so good as a result) is that I WANT to get back on track, not out of fear, but just because I truly want to be kind to my body.

Along those lines, I am switching my simple September goal right now to committing to making weekly goals again for myself and this week's goals are to make healthy food choices and be active, More specifically , I am going to make a menu for the week of healthy meals and stick to it, grocery shop, eat at home more than out, throw away the rest of Bob's bday cake lol, go to yoga Wednesday and complete 30-45 minutes of at least one other indoor exercise routine.

What brought me here was my desire to lose the excess pounds I had gained when I got burned and had to exist in a recliner for 3 months.....having food brought to me..no exercise except trips to bathroom...
What keeps me here is you girls!! and I have to keep battling weight and now Diabetes.

Holy cow Gail- never knew you got burned. Im so sorry and so glad you are over that.

I'm working on my commitment for healthy choices this week. Forgot how much was involved in everything I had been doing in that direction these last few years! I am taking steps forward though and reminding myself that it's all about progress not perfection!

What brought me to mfp was I was so tire of people asking me if I was pregnant. I was overweight with a huge stomach. Everything just settled right around my waist. My daughter introduced me to mfp and I fell in love with the support system and the measuring of your calories in and calories burnt. It does work with helping your overall physical health too. I had a high systolic blood pressure and after dropping the pounds my pressure returned to normal. I love this group because although I am very stress in my life right now I push myself to be somewhat accountable so I can post on here my positive growth and cheer and support you guys in a smaller arena.

Wow!! Middle of September already! We'll be looking Christmas down the nose before we know it.

Had some spare time, so just rambling on, since no one is posting much...
    Busy times...I guess.

    Keeping it SIMPLE:
I am trying to shake up my routine a bit. I am a habitual eater...even if I am not hungry , I will eat just because it is time.
I think, "Well, it's a long time till going home time and I know I will be hungry before then" ....so I eat. And not just a snack, it's on those days, I end up eating enough for two meals or two people.
So I am trying to eat breakfast and skip lunch and eat around 5 pm. It's not as hard as I thought It would be. My goal is to eat this way at least 3 days a week...for starts, and then the full five days....

fingers crossed xxxxx... maybe some more weight may fall off...
