Hey all! Sorry I'm still not very regular here. I'm still in my own personal hell at home.
it's so hot and the apt is such a mess that I'm just sorta frozen. I don't even know where to begin. I'm yearning for when my husband goes away so I can get down to it. He has a tendency to question or undo any housework that i do. Like I can't get rid of ANYTHING with him around and right now there's absolutely no way to clean this mess without getting rid of truckloads of stuff. It's so frustrating...but just three more weeks. Meanwhile, I can't envision my daily routine until school starts since I don't know which kindergarten class my daughter will get--if she'll let out at noon or in the afternoon. Again, just a week to go.
I have made a "decision" (it's more like an inclination) to eat a more fresh plant and vegetable-centric diet. It just feels like what I want and need right now. I already steer away from breads and pastas, so it's just a matter of reaching for veggies first instead of dairy or meat--but not excluding meat and dairy either.
So I'm still having some health issues that keep me up at night, although I thought I had it figured out but now it's returned. On good days I sleep fine though. As for running, I'm hopeful yet again this week. My calves and Achilles had gotten bad again and id stopped running in early June. Despite not running, my right one was still a problem all summer! Finally in the past couple weeks, I became more rigorous about wearing flat, uncushioned shoes (Converse or Merrells) and doing my heel drops and it's FINALLY looking up.
Hope y'all have a great start to the week!0 -
Sherry that all sounds extremely frustrating. Glad you're figuring out your calves/Achilles issue. Hope you can resolve the rest of it.
It's a holiday here so my office is closed. I got very little done Saturday & Sunday so I'm trying to be marginally more productive today. I took a lower dosage of melatonin last night and slept horribly but don't feel as groggy today so maybe won't spend the whole day napping. I'm going to stay away from the extended release tablets for now though & hope in a few days that kicks in.0 -
Hi all I second the bad sleep thing, my body got use to sleeping with benedryl that i was taking for rash and now i am up most of the night if i take nothing. Last night took one i needed to sleep! Would have slept longer but phone woke me up but got at least 7 hrs.
Sherry see if you can do just one small thing a day, just one while hubby out of room, at store, sleeping, even if its a small thing you will feel better. Pick something he won't notice. My hubby thinks he knows the right way to do things to, will even tell me correct way to load dishwasher! Lol. I just do my own way when he is not around.
I found a cool short hike yesterday 1 1/2 hrs away and talked my grumbling hubby both of us tired into getting out of this apt. It was only 2 1/2 miles round trip, the short hike was through beautiful woods over small bridges on creek to a waterfall, not full this time of year but still had water and was pretty.
By end of short hike we were both glad we went. Changed our mental attitude totally, something about such beauty.
Today our only plan is to find a place to relax and watch baseball, we have no tv here...
Hope you all have nice Labor Day!0 -
Marla, I am trying to do little things, but there's so many big glaring things that need to be done! Lol! Laundry from the trip has kept me busy all the way til today (still have the sheets and towels from the house to do--no washer at the island house). I put some random things away (and threw out some things at the same time) in the kitchen that he'd left lying around while I was gone, and I don't think he noticed the stuff I threw out because I had rearranged at the same time. Gotta be tricky! Lol! The first week he leaves it'll be like "everything must gooooo!" around here. Lol!
I had (re)started taking vit C during the day to help with this chest problem I get. Usually by this time at night I'm getting that weird chest thing that keeps me awake, but not tonight so maybe I'll actually sleep on time. I discovered I'd been accidentally taking 500mg vit C during the morning and early afternoon, instead of 1000mg and corrected it so I think it's helping. Fingers crossed.0 -
Is the dishwasher a man thing? Back when I lived out of town I'd come spend weekends with my parents. I'd load the dishwasher to try to be helpful. Can't tell you how many times I'd come in the kitchen later and find my dad "fixing" how I had loaded it. To his credit he tried to be sneaky about it anyway, but I finally said if he was changing it anyway he might as well load it in the first place so we weren't both doing it every time.
Got some laundry washed & hung out on the line, mowed the lawn, cooked chicken in the crockpot for lunches this week, cleaned the bathroom, had my trainer session, and stopped at the grocery store. Still need to portion out the food I'll bring to work for lunches, but that shouldn't take too long. I didn't do everything I wanted to, but close enough.
Marla glad the walk helped! It will be nice once you're able to move into your own house again.0
