Hello, DWP! It's been ages and I missed you.
Last Christmas I weighed 179. Today I am 194. I got the exact opposite outcome of what I wanted---gaining 15lbs instead of losing them. It was a perfect storm of emotional eating/bingeing, my trainer moving to the Midwest, moving to a terrific house with a huge commute so now I drive during what was my morning exercise time, other stresses, and not tracking.
Starting over yet again, yet again. Here I am. My goals are: track everything and eat produce with every meal.
What helps you stay focused?

Sherry - Hoping you get all this worked out so you can run again! I know how much you love it! How are things going with kids in school? Are you getting more time to yourself now?
Marla - moving always seems to be full of chaos. No matter how well planned! When we moved to Phoenix, something happened to our truck and they didn't deliver our stuff for two weeks. So we lived on a hidabed we had bought. The house we're in now is beautiful...but it had a leak from the spout behind the fridge that went under the wall and onto the living room carpet. We also had issues turning on the electricity here as well. Praying that it all smooths out for you and you can finally get settled!
April - welcome back! I find I always want to fix everything...but I'm most successful with focusing on small things. One thing at a time.
So, still recovering from the crazy week! I realized I was really drained as yesterday I needed to spend a lot of time alone. It will honestly probably take me several more days to feel like myself again. Today is a bit calmer at least. I'm an introvert with an extrovert hubby and three extrovert kids. It makes balance hard at times. I didn't eat the greatest. All the stress of the previous week led to some poor food habits as I was basically just trying to survive the week. Amazing how quickly I lose my healthy habits! So right now my big issue is snacking. Time to focus on picking a healthy snack when I want to munch. I won't limit when I eat, but focus on what I choose to eat.
We looked at a couple of cars yesterday. I really like the Honda Odyssey! We might go try out some more cars this afternoon as well. Hopefully we can get everything worked out. My parents are coming up tomorrow so we can go to the DMV and transfer the title over officially. Then we can look into selling the car and either fixing my van or getting a new one. We bring my old Van in today so we'll hopefully find out the issues and see how much it will take to fix it. I think the deciding factor in all this is how bad off is my van.
I'm ready to get a routine! But that does not seem to be happening right now. Best I can do is just buckle down and keep plugging along!0 -
April, welcome back!! If it's any consolation, you and I are once again in the same place! Summer travel destroyed my progress and sent me back to a weight I hadn't seen since I was coming down from maternity weight. Oh well. I actually look forward to tackling this problem (especially now that I have both of my kids in school).
Okay, if we're giving moving stories...when we moved here and shipped our stuff over the sea, it arrived just as a port strike began and it took WEEKS to get it out of the port/customs area (I think it was 6 weeks). Luckily there was nothing we really needed (in fact, I probably would've been better off if I'd never gotten those boxes...except the family photos of course).
val, good luck car hunting! I agree about routine--I am sooo ready for one! Kids are still letting out early this week, and Fri & Mon no school due to election. Next week Idk if they'll let out early, but I'm starting my son's tutor. Lil girl is very sad she's not going, but she'll be doing all-day kindergarten instead (just it might not be "all day" by next week when the tutor starts). I am getting about 3.5 hours to myself in the morning right now. Today I did laundry, threw some stuff out of our storage closet, cooked lentils for tonight, did dishes & stuff like that, AND made myself a healthy salad for lunch!! All in a distraction-free zone...not having to run to my lil girl's beck and call every 5 minutes! Woo hoo!
Took today as a rest day since my legs were a little sore from my walk and mostly because my one foot was skinned and bleeding from being sockless. Did stuff around the house. I'll be having to balance between much-needed housework and exercise in the next couple weeks until school really begins in earnest. Oh yeah, also TOM crept up on me today so I'm kinda "benched" for a day or two til that settles down.0 -
April your in the right place, we are all getting back to it! I gained about 20 lbs this past year from emotional eating from a huge move we did two states away that i am in the middle of the end of it and just beginning at new place.
We got gas and heat this morning, i am off to do errands and feeling better, was sick to stomach last two days.
My two cats which we have little kiity tents with cushion in thm are sharing one to feel safe its cute!
Exercise is moving stuff this week and housework, we sold old appliances to make way for new ones next week, good thing i have electric kettle and hotplate. Under the stove and diswasher was horrid and so funny house is yellow now, i mean every room! Lol we are painting soon but behind stove wall in kitchen was pink!
Have a good day to rest, i have to go!0
