I finished week 4 day 1 today and the last two runs I've experienced some knee pain. I've self- diagnosed it as runner's knee after googling my symptoms. From what I've read, I need to get professionally fitted for shoes (which I"m doing tomorrow) and that I also need to strength training to reduce injuries. My question is what strength training are you doing? Are there any good video reccomendations? I really am enjoyin c25k and want to keep going with it, right now the knee pain is nothing more than a nuisance but I worry that if it persists that I will have to quit c25k.

I used to have a lot of knee pain. I started strength training in February and in addition to strengthening my knees, my trainer also focuses a lot on me strengthening my hips. And good shoes are crucial.

I was having knee trouble, too, so I ordered the DVD "Strong Knees" by Gaiam (http://www.gaiam.com/strong-knees/05-53351,default,pd.html). It specifically targets the muscle groups that support the knee, and has made a difference to me. Check YouTube for snippets of the video, if you're curious. Message me if you'd like to have my copy of the DVD, as I have the activities memorized now.
