Flaxers

I realize we're all different with respect to how many carbs we eat, but was wondering if anyone else really enjoys flackers. I LOVE them. The price, locally, is steep, so I get them on Amazon. This is my favorite variety:

six crackers has 8grams of carbs, but 7 grams of fiber.

LOVE them.

Nice, how do they taste. I've made flax crackers just flax and water cooked till crisp, they work. But don't taste wonderful.

Do you use flax seed meal?
How about adding sea salt and garlic or some other seasonings?

Yes golden flax seed meal. I add himalayan salt and cheddar popcorn seasoning. They still taste kinda paste like. I saw some new seasoning at the store today that might be good. But I feel like I'd have to add a ton to get real flavor

They are crisp, almost hard, with a slightly sticky texture. And quite tasty. A bit dry. But I love em!

Hadn't heard of them. Thank you for posting. One thing I have ordered from Amazon is a product called "Just the Cheese". Similar to cheese crisps that can be made at home but much better in the snack cracker realm. Not really for dipping, but are tasty.

Yeah, I like the Just The Cheese baked crackers too. I use them as faux croutons (the Herb & Garlic flavor) in salad because they stay crunchy through the whole thing. Sometimes I also use Myrna's Skinny Crisps (Onion flavor) for the same purpose but the Just The Cheese has lower carb #'s.

I've considered trying Flackers because they look interesting and from the ingredient list sound good but they contain unfermented soy so I have not tried them and won't because unfermented soy is an ingredient. I'm currently in the process of eliminating unfermented soy from my diet.

If you like Flackers, and they fit into your diet, then more power to you!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, the best place to purchase Just Like Cheese products online is: www.netrition.com - they carry them for the lowest price I've found anywhere!
  • Rosemary is an awesome flavor

    Sounds interesting. Definitely worth trying

I had a recipe for almond flour and rosemary crackers, they were amazing and super easy to overeat, so I usually make them for potlucks or parties.

Add a ton of caraway seeds and garlic. It helps a lot.

Warm out of the oven I close my eyes and pretend I'm eating rye toast. ;)

Ratio is one part water or broth (even better) to two parts flaxmeal, add spices and bake/dry.

Hmmm, I've been looking for something LC friendly to eat with spinach dip. Some of the above sound like viable alternatives!

Thanks I'll try loading them up next time. I have a rosemary plant and maybe some garlic salt. Brushed with olive oil at the end. I too have been wanting to make spinach dip and need a good cracker to eat it with.

I liked flax crackers but they are not part of a grain free diet. Never could get into flax seed oil so I stick with fish oil.
