Anyone heard of this?
As someone who's diet looks a lot like the Med diet, this kind of resonates with me.

I'm not sure the website has keto down pat, but again, I like the concept. I love getting my fats from fish, avocados, nuts, etc.
Thoughts?

Hmm, that's sort of what I do. I try to eat fish every other day, but living at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, beef is MUCH cheaper. I eat a bowl of nuts everyday, and like seeds and avocados, and the occasional olive.
The 3 Tbs of olive oil wouldn't work for me. I only use it every other week or so. I prefer lard, butter, tallow and coconut oil. I only have it on a rare salad or roasted veggies.0 -
Knowing "the mediterranean" quite well, I always have to laugh about the "it's mediterranean" claims. Go around the Med and see why the Greeks are among the most obese of Europeans.0

The Mediterranean diet is often recommended for arthritis suffers so it's interesting to see a combo of that diet and keto as I'm currently trying to get joint pain under control. I wish I liked fish a little more and beef and pork a little less!0

It looks like the Mediterranean approach outline there isn't all that different from the DietDoctor/LCHF approach except focusing on fish and OO instead of meat and lard. It might be a little harder to keep the fats and protein up without all those other animal products, but it's very doable. Let us know how you do.0

It's appealing to me. And not too far off from the way I currently eat...0

I've been a reading fool this last week (if you're on the on the main boards, I started a thread there).
The long story, short, I'm tweaking my carbs down in the hopes of improving my menopausal symptoms.
Anyway, I've been reading! I re-read the original atkins book, I read Keto clarity (and hated it), re-read atkins essentials...I listened to podcasts about mediterranean low carb etc.
Interesting stuff. My goal: improved symptoms while eating as many vegetables as I can (because I'm me).
I've made some changes, more fatty fish, more fat in general, lower carbs... we will see!0 -
Good luck ! It's fun to keep learning and tweaking, isn't it ?0

It is!
I've not been "high carb" for the last 14 years, but I do have quite a ways to go in finding the right lower carb, controlled carb etc for me.
I want to keep eating the photo-estrogenic plant foods, some of which are a bit higher, so I need to be creative.

Thanks for posting. Interesting that he recommends Metamucil. I've noticed when I stopped taking it in the morning, I have less overall control and higher glucose numbers. Need to go have it now!

Good ole fiber!
For now I'm going to count NET carbs, simply to focus on fiber/vegetables.
I've never tried metamucil (for weight control purposes)
