i take medicine which may affect my liver. After many years, I have been diagnosed with GERD (low acid production in my stomach). I recently learned that GERD could affect vitamin (nutrient) absorption. I also read that GERD is triggered by carbs.

Can anyone explain liver function and if a LCHF diet could counteract what this medicine may be doing to me?

@wabmester might be able to. What medication is it? There are several around for GERD I think.

I have GERD. Have had issues with it for over 30 years now. Haven't improved being LCHF, actually have an ulcer I'm working on healing right now. I woke this morning aspirating on stomach acid, no fun I tell you. I take Protonix, Zantac, and Carafate, and still have this happening. I don't know what medicine you are on, or potential side effects, to give an opinion on your situation. Hopefully @wabmester will come along with some scientific information that could help. I do believe we need more information from you though.
