Hey everyone! Yesterday was insane, and then by the end of the day I was wiped, so no run. Also didn't get my ride in this morning. Feeling a bit sluggish. Mainly a lot of stressful things keep happening and I feel like I'm just trying to keep my head above water. It's not a pleasant feeling. Had a meeting about a kids camp that a bunch of churches help run together, A bunch of stuff happened and we lost our week at the camp, and now are scrambling to find a new spot. Long story short, used to cost $225 per kid and now may skyrocket to $400 per kid. So a lot of trying to figure out where we'll hold it, how we'll run it, etc. To be honest, at this point I'm kind of not caring. If it's spendy, I'll have a REALLY small group going next summer so it won't take much to plan it on my end. If it's cheaper, then hopefully more kids will go. A guy at our church already takes some men and boys on a camp trip every summer anyway, so I could just plan a small retreat for the girls and then it could be just our kids. *shrug. Still, stress. My van door is breaking and sometimes won't open. More stress. Our dog might have diabetes and keeps peeing all over everything. He's 13. More stress, Next weekend I have a bunch of family flying in, my hubby's graduation party, and my middle one's birthday party. Stress. This is all on top of all my other stuff. So I'm trying to cut myself some slack when training doesn't go very well for me right now. I'm clinging to the hope that it will get better.
I did make a papaya cake that was heaven in my mouth. Everyone at bible study loved it! There is a very satisfying feeling to see something I've made being so thoroughly enjoyed by others. So there are high points.
I'm off to get church stuff done, and some PTO stuff done and hopefully have a few minutes to myself.0 -
Ok I forget what was hubby going to school for? Glad its over soon but if he isn't into helping out he probably won't change. I have been married a few times and hubby that didn't do anything didn't help a bit when he was out of work either, whereas hubby I have now that helps out does it whether he works full-time or not. So good luck!!!!
We had friends the last few days why I didn't check in yesterday, they left this morning. Good to see people we know since we don't have friends here yet. Got to show them our fav beaches and places to eat.
I have been fighting different kinds of sickness since I have been here, allergy, sinus, sick to stomach. I am ok today but think my body is getting used to different environment. I am eating healthy even when we go out and think the sick to stomach day was after ice cream night before, my body can't take the fat anymore like it used to.
Just about the time I get used to this we will be flying into Texas and New Orleans for 2 weeks.
And I hear you Val about discussions, we had a heavy one about this summer. I turn 60 and have never been to Europe and for years we have said we will go this summer. I joked to my daughter that she would have to come there to be with me and she wants to go, my hubby got mad I didn't ask him but I didn't think Julie would take me up on it! So he asked his kid without asking me! Stupid immature stuff!!!
We had long talk and its starting to look like he will stay a few weeks during which time his daughter and husband will come and I will be with Julie alone the next few weeks. Sounds weird I know but its hard to get Mike to travel these days. He is older than me 66 and is happy to just stay home. I love to travel, luckily he doesn't mind if I travel with friends or my girls. He is close to daughter he invited, I get along with her fine, but don't think her hubby likes me because I am not a partier like they are. Few glasses of wine is about how far I go.
They are late 20's and go out all the time since college.

Lol I didn't even mention exercise!
Walked on trail every day this week and beach too yesterday and going on trail soon today. I go at least 3-4 miles. I love that I have a trail so close to where I live, its 1/2 mile away and overlooks ocean in many places. Goes for a total of 12 miles, so I get to choose either left towards dog park and Arcata way or right towards beach.0 -
I'm ready for this week to be over. Doesn't sound like anyone else is having a much better one. Work is still busy & stressful. I'm actually eating well but I'm so tired all the time I'm struggling with getting in my workouts. My trainer is in Hawaii (he's doing Ironman on Saturday). Usually when he's gone I do my workouts & eat poorly, so this is different. At least one thing is going right anyway!0
