Any folks with 50 or more to lose or had that much to go when you began?

I am curious about how you stay or have stayed motivated. After three weeks of loss I had a gain. I know this is my body's typical cycle but it's disappointing nonetheless. Would love to hear how you handle the long haul.

I started my weight lose journey at 220lbs not at 168lbs. Stated with 5:2 at 184lbs and now, well you know. So I have been doing 5:2 since last September and have been teetering at 168-172 for months now, but I am trucken' along. I love 5:2 even if I have been levelled out.0

Haven't been tracking gains and losses as religiously. But this is an image of my weight loss or gain over a longer period of time.
Fluctuations are normal and I have been on 5:2 sind May 2013. Losses until June 2014 and mostly maintaining since then. Have had a tough time mentally since Jan 2015. Have gained about 3-4kg since then, but am now in a better place and am getting back on track.
SW: 86kg - Start May 2013
LW: 57kg - stabil until Nov 2014
CW: 60kg - Slow creeping up over 8mth
GW: 55kg - End goal
During all of this time I kept plodding on with 5:2, because without it my weight would be higher than it is now. I have high days and suboptimal fasts, but I just have learned to accept them. Fasting is a way of life that helps me keep my weight in check after a lifetime of obesity. That is motivation enough ;-)

So helpful to hear your stories. That voice which in my head which whispers 'you're doing it wrong' or 'it's not going to work' is silent. I am trying to focus on shorter weight loss goals. And one assumes because you have more to lose that it will go faster but it's not true. Snaps27 it sounds like despite your plateau you feel better with 5:2. I too feel healthier. My digestive system is in better shape.0
