Arby's Medium Roast Beef, w/ lettuce, tomato, mayo, NO BUN (tell them to put it in a bowl, they tossed it in a cardboard box the second time I got it, mess):

Big Mac, NO BUN, ask for mayo instead of "special sauce" (I also got an extra hamburger to throw on top, tossed the bun):

and YES! Jimmy John's Unwich is a new favorite of ours too...I recommend ordering extra mayo & additional meat if you are ordering from the 8" regular sub menu, the club menu already has the extra meat. All the lettuce they use in making it, you need the extra fillings. It's kinda dry w/o the extra mayo as well.

Also, on another thread somewhere, someone posted that you can take a George Foreman grill, flip it upside down and use the top section to cook eggs, etc. in a hotel room...

Hard-boiled eggs and hot dogs can be made in the hotel coffee maker. If there is a fridge, get lunch meat, cream cheese and cheese and do roll-ups.

I LOVE burgers, preferably with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and extra pickles. Some places will make them without the bun with no problem (either lettuce wrapped or in a container--I don't really like lettuce wrapped because I find it messy), and others will look at me like I'm crazy, so I just order it without ketchup and take the bun off myself.

I would imagine the temperature of the water is just shy of boiling. Adjust time accordingly.

I eat bunless burgers and salads mostly. I will also do bunless grilled chicken sandwiches. Chik-fil-a has grilled nuggets. They are ok, but I prefer their grilled sandwich minus the bun. I've been know to eat the toppings off of slices of pizza too.
You'll be able to find something to eat pretty much anywhere you go.

Believe it or not, I've seen a ton of them at thrift stores and goodwill for $5 or less.... Even the large family sized ones!

On the hotel coffee pot being used to heat some foods; yes, just run the water through, without the coffee and put the meat...in the carafe!! Brilliant! Wheels are turning! I see cooked bacon (or just about any food) in a zipper type bag IN the water, to heat!! Genius idea!!! The water wouldn't get hot enough to melt the bag, I wouldn't think, since the coffee they produce isn't that hot anyway. Kitchenette when there isn't one! Ha!

Now that's an idea!!!! I was wondering how I could hear my bone broth up without a microwave (hotel doesn't have and charging 10$ a night for a fridge!!!). It's a casino hotel guess they will charge you out the eye lol

A casino hotel won't usually have a fridge/microwave since they want you to eat in their restaurants!

Nothing travels like canned fish - Tuna, Kippers, Sardines, Salmon. A basic quickie lunch solution on the go.
And yea, bunless burgers, but the quality of meat at FF is mostly terrible and the temptation to order fries with that is just unbearable. LOL.

I've been on 3 road trips since spring and I've found fast food places to be very inconsistent on special oeders but that's nothing new.

I'll add two more possibilities. McD's Steak, egg & cheese sandwich w/o the bun. Panera's Chicken Cobb Salad with Avocado.

    These are good ideas.

When traveling or at home I prefer Huddle House. I get nothing but bacon, fried eggs and coffee which is a 24/7 option. Denny's has the same options but there are none locally but often are in many parts of the USA.

Many free hotel breakfasts will have at least boiled eggs.

After a year of very LCHF I have learned it is very doable when away from home or at home.

I think Chipotle or Free Birds is more universal in the U.S. now. there are a ton around here. haven't had it since doing keto but wanna try getting a bowl - without the rice!! just pick your meat, they have a ton of veggies, sour cream, guacamole...yummm yummm it will be so good when I finally get around to going.

also, on the way to a rehearsal this week I stopped by McD's and got 2 beef patties with nothing else - was cheap, like $1.30. when I go on a trip I'll probably get 2-3 patties with the veggies, cheese and bacon wrapped in lettuce. looking forward to that. if a restaurant says they won't do that just go to a different burger place.

but yeah like other people said just getting McD's breakfast sandwiches without the bread sounds brilliant. or you can just ask for eggs and bacon or sausage.
