Hi my name is Tammy. I'm 45 years old and 50lbs overweight. After 4 years or trying to follow the 6 mini meals a day approach I've realized that plan just doesn't work for me and I'm doing something different!! My plan would be considered more a "reduced" carb diet rather than low carb. I basically took my current work out program (P90x3) and am doing 1/2 of the recommended daily carbs. So that is around 90 carbs per day (30per meal). I know that may be a lot to most of you. I already feel better and am not craving food all the time. I even go hours without thinking of food!! Also have not had a binge eating episode for a couple weeks !!!!! I don't know a lot about low carb so I may have some newbie type questions as I move forward. I have lost 3 lbs in 3 weeks. It's a start

It sounds like you are off to a good start! There are many people in this group with varying carb levels and everyone is so helpful! If you are getting results and reducing cravings then it sounds like you are on the right track for your body! We're all different!0

Research. Research. Research.
A lot.
Knowledge is power.
The thread at the beginning of this group is a great place to start.
Plenty of books if you're a reader. Plenty of YouTube videos if you're not.0 -
I've done some research, but I want to know as much as possible so I can move this thing in the right direction !!! I will read the thread tonight when I get home I have not done that yet. I'm trying to keep my mind busy at night so I'm not thinking of food too much !!

Welcome to the group! You will find all levels of low carb here, and will learn from them all after being around a bit. Questions are great and usually help others learn things they may not have recognized. This is a wonderful group who have been instrumental in helping me! It's good you're here!!0

Gr8 for you to start at a level that means success for you. I started 4 months ago just stopping any sugars and reading labels. I didn't know about MFP, nor that sugar is really a carb. After success of dropping 9kg in 8 weeks I started researching more and started learning about the full picture of carbs - what an eye opener. Now 75 days into MFP and LCHF <20g measuring keto levels & I am down another 14kg (31lb).
I have also tried so many other WOE but never stuck to anything for this long, nor ever down by this much in the one focussed time.
18 weeks and I'm down by 23kg (50.6lb)!!!!
I cannot believe these are my figures. Just reading this makes me feel inspired by myself (not by others achuevements instead). I'm so motivated, don't feel hungry, more energy, feel healthy, skin is soft & glowing (but still hateing exercise so that's my next focus).
One happy new to keto WOEing human being.0
