I came across this food education app called, "Fooducate" and the goal is to have the chance to eat better by comparing the foods we buy. There is also a list of alternatives if an item scores low.

I found a good lot of the changes I have made in food products I buy are really good and it makes me happy to know. This will make it easy to check on products before I buy them. I already read labels but it sure helps to see something that will confirm my thoughts on a product.

Thanks for the link, this is interesting. I will take the time to investigate more foods, but already, I have found good stuff and bad stuff...my favorite BBQ sauce rated a D+, so sad 'cause it tastes so good. I actually already knew it wasn't the greatest, it has HFCS in it.

Took a quick look - it is interesting. Thanks for putting it in a separate post so it will be easy to find if I want to spend more time in it.

I'm glad you like it. I thought it would be better in a separate post, so even I could find it easier too, lol.

Just remember Sheryl if it taste good spit it out because anything that taste that good can't be good for you.... :D
At least that is what one of the guys here at work says.

Can I at least chew it really, really good before spitting? Suck all the flavor out?

So, I have been doing some more perusing online and came across another food education website that also has Oro-Weat Oatnut bread listed.

Fooducate-the one I started this post about says the bread gets a B- score and it's an all well and good bread. Well, see the next link regarding this bread I buy because hubby likes it.

This one is called Foodfacts.com and it lists the very same bread but with a lower score-C+. It also lists a plethora of things I don't want in my food. It is amazing what is truly hidden in our food labels and this bread has MSG (might be listed under another sneaky name) , Soy (it's listed), and even corn (not listed) I didn't know about. I don't mind corn but it's wheat bread, so no thought ever crossed my mind that I would be eating corn in wheat bread. There are other things but they are good in my mind. Time to start making all of my own bread because this is the only one hubby wants, lol. I can add nuts for him

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. The almond milk I use, Califia Farms Pure Vanilla Almond Milk, rated an A-. :)
