Hey everyone! I managed to get conferences done, and the kids got to paint their pumpkins. I went grocery shopping, and even got a swim workout in. I did eat several homemade chocolate chip cookies, but other than that it was a decent day. Hubby has at least improved his mood slightly. I'll be having a conversation with him, but he's still in the midst of this long run of work without any break. So probably won't have a real conversation until Wednesday (He has Tuesday off, but want him to have a day off to rest up before pouncing on him).
This morning I have my 10 mile run. With all the stress I don't feel confident going into this run but I'm doing it anyway. I figure if I walk some of it, that's just fine! I also plan to get a lot of the laundry done today and I have to head to church and get some stuff printed off as well. But hoping that things will start to slow down a bit now.
Have a great weekend everyone!0 -
Hey all. Well I'm really struggling here. Talking to DH I realized that him gone for five weeks is just on the cusp of what I can handle in a normal groove, but throw in illness and castings, photo shoots...its way too much. Yesterday was spent at home with the kids. Son had a fever all night and day and with the poor weather, I just didn't bother taking lil girl to kinder. Today about the same, home recovering. Son is better (was exhaustion maybe?) and we've worked on some domestic skills together (dishwasher, weeding out toys to get rid of...he's ten but better late than never and 4yo lil girl is soaking it up too). Another sore throat for me too.
I just want my old life back, when I ran daily and went to the gym, plus the addition of kindergarten for lil girl. But instead, Dh is starting a company (or two) in the U.S. and I don't know if my life will ever be the same. The gloomy weather isn't helping. Sigh. Sorry for he buzzkill. Just burnt out. Will be better soon I hope

Wow i missed a lot in a few days. Been busy here in New Orleans. Tons of walking, many many miles.
My daughter woke up sick day before I left and was coughing as we went to airport 2 1/2 hrs away. I felt bad but we had no other way to get there. My hubby drove to airport so she would only drive back.
Sorry to here of your tough days Val and Sherry.
You know I understand Val my hubby is a 2 yr old too when tired or sick but i have to press on no matter what. Some men get in in their heads that their work is more important, not just making more money, but more physically taxing...i think its because in our society they struggle to figure out how to be powerful without being a jerk....
Also we are the only ones they whine too, unlike women who have many friends and support groups like this most men won't even talk to friends about problems. God forbid they would look like a wuss!
So have learned to just let most of what hubby vents about blow over and leave room or house if i can.
Today is our 15th annversary. Hubby sleeping in, had a hard time sleeping so I have been up for hours waiting to go somewhere. We are staying in airbnb in a neighborhood lets just say i wouldnt walk in alone. But only a few blocks to nicer area. Having fun.
Lots of cool music here, going to a Halloween parade tonight, knowing New Orleans will be crazy! In a way its good I have been having stomach problems this past month, forcing me to be good eating out and only 1 glass of wine a day, sounds easy except when hanging out in clubs, drinking a lot of gingerale and ice tea.

Happy anniversary Marla!
There are times I feel sorry for myself because I'm single and have to do everything myself around the house. After reading yesterday's & today's posts I'm seeing the flip side. Sometimes you ladies are doing it all anyway plus dealing with your husbands. When they say "for better or worse" I guess that sums it up.Hang in there Sherry & Val!
I've had the stomach flu. Realized Thursday night it wasn't just my normal touchy stomach and stayed home yesterday. Stomach is better but I'm still pretty wiped out. I was registered for a 5k this morning & did it, but walked part of it then came home and took a nap.0
