Hi all.
Hope you're hanging in there val.
Happy anniversary Marla! Sounds like you're in a fun place. Hope daughters ok.
Laura, hope your stomachs ok.
Well so far today I went to the store with a big list of stuff, only to find it closed. Only certain stores are open on Sunday here and finding it closed was a very bad sign. I went to a sandwich shop for food for kids and when I passed by again, the store had opened (better late than never). So I'll go out for another walk later for the shopping since I had sandwiches at the time this morning. I'm also working up an idea to bring back running. I'm very excited. Everything I've faced lately would've been so much more palatable if I had been running (my zen thing). I figure if I space it out enough and limit walking (in exchange for gym), maybe my leg won't suffer too much. It seems these last few days of not doing jack has helped my leg--guess that's the key.
Got to help lil girl write now. Later!0 -
Marla - Happy Anniversary! I definitely agree, especially that they have no one to vent to but us. I tried to keep that in perspective and I didn't bring anything up with him until he had calmed down. Hope you had fun yesterday!
Sherry - Yay! I hope your plan works! I hated running when I first started and now it is definitely my escape and chance to have some introverted time. So I get needing it to help get through rough times!
Laura - Hioe you're feeling better! Well done on still running a 5K!
So hubby finally mellowed out yesterday and apologized profusely for being such a bear and then thanked me for being so calm and keeping our house running while he was being a spaz. He said this week would have been a million times worse but he knew that I was still keeping everything going and that was what got him through. So feeling pretty good now, and I didn't have to bring anything up. So patience was rewarded! Our friends are also going to watch our kids for us Thursday night so we can have a date night.
Well, oldest one was sick last weekend and now the youngest is sick. Of course we ran out of ibuprofen but a friend was nice enough to stop by and lend me their medicine (hubby was at work and I didn't want to load up three kids...including one sick one...and drag them to the store for one thing). So today will be interesting. Supposed to go to nephews birthday party after church. On top of actual church and our evening church activities. Which hubby works during. So I have to tag team with him where I go to do stuff first service, then go home to watch youngest while he goes to play in the worship band during second service. Probably going to have to skip the party and my girls are disappointed. This evening I have to lead a class so probably going to snuggle the youngest in a corner with our iPad so we can contain his germs to one small area. It's all complicated. Probably the worse day to have a sick kiddo for me.
Skipped my bike this morning because I was still sore from running 10 miles yesterday. Felt it would be better to have a day in between the two long workouts. I'll do some dynamic strength stuff this evening and do my long bike ride tomorrow morning. On a positive note, I have caught up with everything....for the most part. Hopefully can start to follow a normal routine again this week's. Hubby is done with extra shifts so that will help too. Two more weeks until our big race! Getting excited!
Happy Sunday everyone!0 -
Just wanted to say hello. Hello!
Had family visiting this weekend so it's a little bit hectic. But I ate mindfully for the most part and while I ate over calories, I did not gorge or eat my feelings or eat past comfort. Small victories, right? Also trying to do some pre-week prep today. Got savory pumpkin soup in the crock.0 -
Hello, glad it worked out Val and that he owned up, its just too bad they cant cntrol themselves like we have to!
Sherry sounds like you are slowly coping better.
Laura hope you are feeling better today!
I am having fun, feeling good, all the walking has been good except feet hurt. We walked to closest place for breakfast in the rain (we packed umbrellas, i checked weather) spending afternoon just resting, reading. Its suppose to really storm starting in a hour for rest of day, heavy rain, thunder, 20-25 mph wind. Taking uber to dinner later.

Happy to read everyone sounds like things are going better today!
Val glad your husband acknowledged what you were doing for him even while he was being a spaz, even if he didn't let you know that until later. Hope you got through all the challenges of today okay with a sick kid.
Sherry the hardest part of dealing with my injury this spring/summer is that running had become my outlet to deal with stress, and I didn't have a backup when that stress was not being able to run. Hope you can find a way to work it back in. It took me 5 months to build up to running 30 minutes. You have to embrace patience as part of the process. I built very slowly. If it felt good after 2-3 runs I'd bump up. If I didn't feel good I backed off. Yes it was frustrating but I'm healthy after those 5 months instead of still hurting.
Great job April! Life gets in the way sometimes and sounds like you dealt with the weekend well.
Glad you're having fun Marla! Are you in the path of that bad storm that's been on the news?
I'm feeling much better today. Cleaned my house & am at the gym now. Back to it!
