Coconut oil

I know it's been discussed a million times and, I did do a search but didn't feel like reading every single post about it. Which is best for my coffee or does it matter. I've just been using the one from the cooking aisle but, I noticed at WalMart they have 2 different ones with the vitamins. What kind does everyone use?

I prefer the unrefined, organic coconut oil myself. It has a slight (and I mean very very slight) coconut taste (I actually think it just tastes very slightly sweet and vanilla) but it's not something you can taste in your coffee or food.
It smells really good and I'll usually rub a dab on my elbows and on the ends of my hair too while I'm making coffee. :)

I'm using a liquid coconut oil from Carrington Farms in my coffee that advertises 4x more MCT'S than regular. I don't know how valid that claim is, but it mixes easily and has barely any taste.

For cooking, we had a big jar in our kitchen already, and I'm using that till it's gone, then I'll look more closely when I buy my next jar.

Btw, that Carrington Farms stuff is available at WalMart, Target, and my local Giant.

I think I've got about 4 different coconut oils in my kitchen right now. I use the liquid MCT oil in my coffee, but I am sure you could use anything you like.

Is it just with all the other cooking oils or in a different place?

I am in Canada and use Alpha Supreme, I think it's called. I get it at a health food store.

Another nice bonus with the liquid coconut oil - I was able to make my coffee without using the immersion blender, which I'm sure is appreciated by my sleeping wife and kids at 4:30am

Ha. I always have to wait for everyone to wake up, before I start my Ninja. ;)

I was just using an immersion blender, which is quieter than the vitamix, but still early in the morning, it's enough to rouse the dogs and at least one kid. I was actually taking it all out to the garage to blend - this is a lot nicer.

I used to have an immersion blender at work and make it at work, butter in the fridge and MCT oil in my drawer and I was good to go!

I must get some mct oil and blend my coffee. I'm almost eight months in, and haven't done it! It's way overdue! I think I've been reluctant because of my stomach issues, and that's improving (slowly), but will be changing this!

I think I need to get some coconut oil to try this coffee you're all raving about!

I use the unrefined organic Carringtons Farm in the solid form
