Happy Halloween week everybody!!

Mondays fast went well this week, I have been stuck in putting finishing touched on my PhD thesis and fingers cross will get it signed off this week. So nevertheless it has been a stressful week this week and to top it of I've got all six kids home this week. I saw 165 on the scale again and that number hasn't been seem since July, so very pleased. I am attempting a fast today, but in the back of my mind are the grilled cheese sandwiches I want to make the kids, but I will have to push that until tomorrow when I will take a small break from my research and watch the annual Nightmare Before Christmas with the kids and I will allow myself a few Halloween treats :p .

If you don't mind me asking, what research are you doing for your thesis?

    Good job Snaps!

I also had a bad day emotionally but a good fast on Monday. Yay me for not giving into emotional eating!! Next fast will be tomorrow. Hoping to see 59.x on Friday, which would mean, I'm back to pre-Dublin weight. Boah that Guiness is sticking well ;-)

Of course I don't mind :) My masters was in photography and my PhD thesis is about ethical practices of photojournalists in the UK, digital manipulation etc... I was fun I got to talk to a bunch of photojournalists about what they do all day. I have been writing the thesis forever, but it is finally coming to a close.

Good job to you too! And do you know how incredibly young you look in your photo OMG, Looking good!

Managed my fast day yesterday, but today I gave into the grilled cheese and USA sweets (smarties and runts :p ). But I do have to say that my waist appears to look smaller. No love handles on the sides and when I sit, my tummy doesn't to the, I don't have a belly button thing... if you know what I mean :D Feeling pretty good!

Hi everyone, I've been a member for about 3 weeks now and love this app. It's my fist time ever recording & counting calories! I'm 56, 5'6" and am guessing my weight as I don't own a scale. I'm figuring I'm about 30 lbs overweight. I am using measurements and pant sizes as a guide. Tried on some old jeans yesterday!!! I started learning about this 5:2 system of eating and I love it. I'm pretty sure that's how I ate on my own in my 20's without knowing! So far I have had success by doing a 4:3 to start and have been trying to walk 10000 steps 6 days/wk. so far it's all working even though I'm cooking spaghetti for the rest of the family! I like to read here and find encouragement...... It's really nice to hear that all of you are doing so well! Cheers!

What an interesting and relevant topic, Snaps!! Anytime you can have a dialogue about ethics, whether it's about medicine, politics (in which the ethics is near nil :) ), or photojournalism, it gets interesting to see what people think!

Sounds like we are all sticking to it! I'm thinking about holidays and feeling confident I'll be able to keep it under control with fasting. That will be a first :p
