    Hey everyone!

Marla - Glad you've been having so much fun! But it is always nice to get home even if it's been a fun vacation or holiday. :)

Laura - I love new gear! Hence the starter yesterday. ;). I've found that the warmer gear is definitely worth the extra money. So that it keeps you both warm and cool.

I had a good day yesterday! Had a shortened staff meeting, so did make it in to the Y to ride the indoor bikes. Did a short 30 minutes workout but it was intense and I really pushed myself. My legs were all jello-y. Which contributed to the decision to not run this morning. I have my last training session with my trainer today. :(. She usually kicks my butt pretty hard, so I figured adding the bike workout to that was plenty. No need to run five miles on top of it right now. I'm bummed to be losing my trainer but she moved to west valley and can't make the commute to our Y anymore. She has been printing my workouts off for me so I have a bunch and she is going to print off some more for me today. I'm going to try continuing to push myself on my own. If it's not working as well, I'll try a new trainer at that Y.
Hubby and I hung out, got the kids and brought them to a Thrifty ice cream just down the street that I didn't even know was there. But the school gave middle child a free coupon for her birthday so off we went. It's old fashioned ice cream and only about $1.50 for a one scoop cone so very reasonable. We will be back. Then we went to Target. Long story short, we have a plan through hubby's Union that gets us unlimited data with Verizon. But they're disbanding it this week. We can be grandfathered in, but if we ever make a change to our plan we lose it...which includes getting new phones. So we ordered some new iPhones with more memory so that we won't have to get a new phone for a long time and hopefully keep the unlimited data plan for a good long while. Bought new cases for it and such. Then we headed to our local Tri store. I finally bought the bullet and bought a wetsuit. I figure, even if I drop these last 20 pounds, I'm tall enough where it won't make a huge difference in inches. Plus, I'm tired of renting a different one for each race I have with an open water swim. Found one I love! Trying on wetsuits in a stuffy dressing room is a good workout! I was pouring sweat by the end! After that we went out to eat where I ate way to much bread but had a lot of fun! Then to bed. Hubby and I were so tired after all the stressful weeks that we fell asleep without doing any....other....activities. ;)

Today we have our bible study and such. I have my personal trainer and I'm heading to Costco. Forgot to buy Halloween candy to pass out. Oops! Hopefully they still have some left!

    Have a great day!

    Hi friends!

We are on day two of a holiday. Yesterday was a long play date and a chance for me to catch up with a friend. Today, at home, lots of introspection.

I realize that throughout all this time of one fire after another, preceded by the months of travel and just general chaos (vs. routine), both my body and my home have suffered terribly. I just haven't been able to get it together. When DH returns (Monday), he's going to give me all the time I need. So, I've decided I need to tackle one thing at a time, almost obsessively. I've decided it'd be best if I focus on my home first. S, I may not be checking in here very much. As much as I wish I could "do it all" (and I really SHOULD be able to), the situation is too big and overwhelming right now. After I get things more manageable around here, I'll start a routine that I can keep up with and which will include my daily exercise. Anyway, maybe the extra time will help with my right leg too. Wish me luck.

Sherry that is the best way to do things when overwhelmed, to break down into bite size pieces. As you finish each one you will feel better and eventually you will get caught up. We will miss you but be here when you check in!

I have a ton to do when we get home, every room needs to be painted, a ton of outdoor work on non rainy days, 2 appts with dmv for new licenses and registration, smog for cars, new bank account, change car insurance, 2 doctor appts....and I still have a ton of unpacking to do! So i feel your pain, i just write daily lists and feel good when a few things get done. What helps is we are retired so other than dmv and insurance no hurry.

I am a apple person and it keeps me organized, i have mac desktop, ipad and iphone and love that ical and contacts immediately update to all.

Walked a mile to breakfast so thats 2 miles, same for dinner later in opposite direction but add walking around french quarter to that on last afternoon.

Resting now, doing laundry and packing, leaving in morning.

Was bad on last day and had old fashioned biscuits and gravy at small southern place...i think i worked off about 5% of it with walk, lol :)

I decided to make big pot of healthy soup when i get home and eat that and salads for a few weeks, i feel the need for a southern detox!! :p
