HI Lushes... I try to check in here at least once a month, but dang, I am really late this month.
Just want to congrat everyone who has quit/or trying to quit smoking.
Gary - Glad you are mended and will soon be able to lush again.

Just chugging along here. I am trying to moderate my drinking to one night a week because I have gained 10 lbs and am not pleased. So far.

I am getting super excited. I applied for a bunch of clerk IV positions with 2 of Maui's hospitals. I just received my first response and I "qualified" for the position, fingers crossed something comes from one of the 12 apps I submitted.
I also just took a test to be a postal city carrier. Oh how I would LOVE to work outdoors. I am excited about the prospect of doing something completely different than what I do now!!!!0 -
Diana, that made me laugh out loud. Last night was just vodka, no porn(pom). It was really windy last night we lost power 3 times for about 5 minutes and then at 5:30 we lost it until 1:00 this morning. It really sucks. How did you fair in the wind?

Hello Lushes! I am so far behind on this thread. I spilled water on my laptop at home on Saturday...and I'm still hoping and praying that the keyboard becomes fully functional. I can enter my password for my account minus ONE LETTER that will not work. UGH. I don't know what I will do if I can't get it to work
It's been in a bag of rice for a few days. I'll wait until Friday to try to see if it works again.
Robin, I am so incredibly sorry about your Dad. Very sweet what you wrote about him being back with your Mom now though. My thoughts are with you.

I'm attempting to save my liver this week because next week is Thanksgiving, and I have to be at my in-laws house for 4 days. Complete with all the family (& 5 dogs + 1 cat)....I drink a lot while I'm there. And nap a lot too. LOL0 -

Sydney, we watch religiously!!! There is also a Building Hawaii, think it only has a few episodes and Buying Hawaii. Oh and a new show Pacific Warriors. Its about kayak fishermen/women. I just love the visual. I CANNOT wait to get back there!!!! 48 days :bigsmile:

Tonight, my boss is taking us out for my farewell dinner. We are staying over night at a local hotel cause we like to drink + dinner with boss and wife = kind of uncomfortable if not booze is present
Otherwise the weekend is pretty low key. Going to visit some friends who just had a baby tomorrow on the way home, otherwise chicken pot pie and alcohol in the comfort of our temporary home :laugh:

Had a 0 Thursday, drank most of a bottle of wine and a strong beer Friday and had better part of a 1/2 bottle of wine and a beer yesterday. We're heading tofriends Thanksgiving in a couple hours so I'll have some beer or wine. I'm off work till 11/30! Yipee!!! My plan is to not get schmamered every night with my family.0

installed the dog house heater. drank vodka cranberry or vodka pom most o the weekend. had a lovely merlot Saturday night with a killer ribeye and roasted potatoes. Yesterday we were craving pastrami sandwiches and they were so good. I am so glad that it is only 3 days this week.0

Gonna dry out until Thursday. Thanksgiving is with my in laws, Friday we are going to a beer event with SIL and BIL, Saturday we are doing thanksgiving with my family and Sunday we are going to another beer event....0 -

So always keep a count down calendar on my desk for the nest big thing. so 24 calendar and 17 working days until Jamaica. A much needed respite from life and the holidays. Yesterday was a couple of vodka cherry poms (bought cherry pom by mistake). I am rebelling against Turkey on Thursday and I am making corned beef and cabbage. we will be drinking black and tans to go with.0

I'm one of the few who is not fond of Thanksgiving food. I am thankful my brother and his wife host so I don't have to do much. You can usually find me in the corner with the wine and a roll :laugh:

Tuesday-6oz of wine, whilst watching a terrible movie....Serena with Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. The acting was really good but the story was kind of crappy!!!
We are going to see Hunger Games tonight, WOOT!!!!!! Not sure about drinks. It is a dry theater and I can't see drinking before and we won't get home until 9ish, so maybe a zero????
I need to get up early tomorrow, get my workout in and get ready before everyone shows up. I'd love to take it kind of easy and be in bed at a reasonable time tomorrow and possible get a workout in Friday morning. Busy next couple of days with lots of boozing...my liver will need a break next week for sure!!!!

So yesterday I decided to go pick up my wine club. I didn't realize how long it had been since I had picked up. I get 6 bottles a month so yesterday I came home with 2 and a half cases of wine. So I will drinking wine for a while.
Kate can't tell you the last time I saw a movie in a theatre.
Gary turkey enchiladas sound good.
Syd nothing wrong with a roll and some wine.

Happy Thanksgiving lushes! The son gets in today and I'm freaking out a little because he announced he's GRADUATING 6 MONTHS EARLY FROM COLLEGE AND WILL BE BACK HOME DEC. 12TH!! I'm soooo proud of him but I'm also freaking out a little because I like missing him..and having him home for 2 years while in grad school will be an adjustment (for him and us I'm sure) But he's saving himself and us thousands of $$$ by finishing up early. Told him a nice graduation trip to celebrate is in order.
