Second week of November already!! We have no snow yet and the weather is hovering around 0 C and +5 C. Emptied all my water tubs today, don't need to water any plants - we have had rain off and on for the last few days....
After all the yard work, headed out for a short walk with my dog. He was so patient waiting for me to finish.

My goal for November is 120 miles - 15 over 10,000 steps - get back on mini trampoline or use my walking DVD's.
Total for week 1- 24.2 miles (1/15 over 10,000)

Wow Lilymay...what weather! I grew up in Indiana, so I love the cold weather! It's a little bipolar here. We have been anywhere from the 50s to the 80s F. This week, we are supposed to be no higher than upper 50s today and then by Thursday, back up near 80. Doing a lot of raining, though.
Been in a real funk with the illness and just the blahs! Missing my pup terribly.
This weekend, I convinced my boyfriend that we should go to some shelters to look around. It was overwhelming at first, with lots of tears, but ultimately very mood elevating. I also found the biggest, scariest dog at the one that had an open visitation and took him for a walk (another place told us not to open any runs and basically look but don't touch - that's where my original pup came from, but I don't think I'll be adopting from there again with the experience this weekend). One of the volunteers was scared for me at the one where I decided to walk the big guy, another had already told me she didn't know why there was a warning on his run b/c she was newer and wasn't allowed to interact with him. Challenge accepted.
It was more like him taking me for a walk! Fun, and I really worked up a sweat.
He was all over the place, checking everything out...an 80 lb puppy, so his leash manners were lacking and he liked to jump at me and try to grab the leash to pull...LOL. I'm trying to convince my BF that we need a dog the size of a small horse!! Maybe after Christmas if he hasn't been adopted by then! I definitely foresee more visits to that shelter for my puppy fix.
So...as far as a check in. My goal was 115 miles and 10 (I think) at 5+. My last check-in was on the 4th and I was at 9.61 miles with a lot of work to do!

8th - 4.9 (Are you kidding me! I didn't think I was that close!!!)
Total: 27.98 with 23 days to go. 2 at 5+. (3.78 per day to hit 115).

mlh37214 I am sure you find the right puppy. Dogs are so smart...mine spent Sunday watching my every move waiting for his opportunity to lead me off down the road for a walk. Glancing over his shoulder making sure I was still coming.0 -
Thanks Lilymay! I know it's going to take a lot of visits to find the right personality fit. My baby who passed was crazy! She was a great companion, but a horrible walking buddy - easily distracted. Since I've gotten older, I want a personality that will walk (and eventually jog) with me, and keep me moving. I feel like the mini horse would be a good fit once he gets a little of the puppy out of him. I'm willing to deal with the puppy and put in the hours of training to get where we need to be, though. Who could blame his excitement though, living in a run and people afraid of him b/c of his size (and the warning sign!). He is a shepherd mix and has an intimidating look, too.
I got a random message from someone on here that lives locally to me. We've been messaging and trying to keep each other motivated, checking in with progress each day. Hoping to hit a group fitness class in our area (I would never meet some random person at a park or greenway for the first time). Sounds like she's looking for someone to keep her motivated and I do a lot better when I have someone to keep me accountable as well. I don't know how I feel about dance classes - I have the coordination of...well, someone/thing very uncoordinated! LOL...at least it should be fun.

PS...I guess the message wasn't so random. It was in response to a post I made on a local message board months ago and never visit b/c it wasn't very active. Sounds kind of creepy that someone hunted down a local to start communicating with, without knowing it was though a local message board to start with. LOL0

The weather is still nice here, freezing at night , but still getting some yard work done.... picking away at it. Moving the crushed rock is slow because I have to do it by hand .... but that's okay - I need the muscle building0 -

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Getting some good steps in yesterday and today...morning off...go into work at 11:30...11:30 - 8. Good for me and good for the doggie...she gets a longer walk.
I am looking on Amazon for a lighted leash and collar ... it is dark out when we walk in the morning...not a long walk...longer walk after work at 4.
Anyway, my new is great but it wrecks Ernestine's and my mornings together. I just have to stay on my game and have plenty in the tank after work to give her a good walk. So far, I stink at that.
Also, I am not losing anything...I am in the chubby category. 15 pounds off would make all the difference on this 5'2" frame. I am going to stick with my routine for now, but after TG, I am going to do South Beach again for two solid weeks. The Phase 1.0 -

Adc7225 - I have a calendar - actually I get it from my TOPS website - I keep a running total and can compare to the month before. Each day has some encouragement wrote on it and I write quotes around the edges.
Most important I write on it daily steps and compare to the month before.0
