Hey everyone! It was exciting to see all the posts yesterday!
Marla - a walk on the beach sounds wonderful! I'm glad you're life is calming down enough for you to call it boring. After such a long haul of stress after stress, you deserve a little boring!
Laura - glad you were able to get a nice run in. Do you think you can hold that nice weather long enough for me to come visit in a couple weeks?
April - so glad to hear from you! We missed you!
I managed to stay on top of our routine, and I'm stiff but not too sore. So I call that a win in my book! Another crazy weekend coming up this weekend as we volunteer for the Ironman AZ on Sunday. So hubby and I are taking the weekend off together and switching houses with my parents. They're coming to our house and watching our kids while we hang out at theirs...which is closer to the race area.
I also spent some time looking at all I do and prioritizing stuff. I think Ive generally done well at keeping my priorities straight. But what I tend to do is start to slack off when I get a little tired and instead of doing some true down time I zone out in front of facebook. Which usually leaves me more tired...or cranky because of some idiot who said something stupid on social media. I'm trying to nip that in the bud a little and only hop on that stuff once in the morning, and once in the evening. Yesterday felt great when I did that. I read a book, and had some nice and refreshing downtime!
Hoping to head over to goals and update that later today. Have a great day everyone!0 -
Val there's definitely a black hole of time when you jump on FB/MFP. I'll think "I'm just going to check quick" and suddenly an hour has passed.
My swim classes start tomorrow night so I'm switching around my workout schedule as of this week. I went to ZMix over lunch today and will work late to make up for the longer lunch, but then I get the rest of the evening off so that's nice. Swim classes are 6:00-7:00pm on Wednesdays for six weeks. There's adult lap swimming that night from 7:00-8:00 so if I decide I want to stay & get more practice I can do that, although I'm guessing an hour will be enough. I don't at all know what to expect from this class. This is another one through Community Education. The first time I took the beginner class (the options are beginner or advanced) and as some of you may recall the first lesson I swam laps by myself while the other 3 adult women spent the entire hour trying to muster up the nerve to dunk their heads under water while standing in the deep end. By those standards I decided maybe I am "advanced."0 -
Just trying here. Trying to be present and focused and mindful of what I eat.0

Hi. Spent day in Brookings OR on coast 2 hrs from me. Sunny day. We hiked trails around beach. Around state park. Up steep hills. Fun day.
At dinner now.
I know I said I wasn't going to diet again but after my year off trying to be intuitive and gaining 20 lbs. I am going on a diet! I won't say no to sweets absolutely or I will fail but I am going to cut carbs a lot and start weighing again.
I just booked a trip to Maui for us in May. I had miles for free flight. Staying in condo Airbnb Kanapali beach. I figure this is my goal to loose 20 lbs in 6 months.0
