How important is vitamin D and especially taking a vit D supplement for diabetics?

    My own doctor upon diagnosis in April told me to take 1000iu twice a day...

    I'm on a supplement. My levels were tested back in OCT 2015 and it was a 7. It was supposed to be between 30-50. Mine is for bone health though, don't know about the diabetes part but my HBA1c has dropped considerably since my vit D level improved.

    My doctor has placed me on a prescription Vit D 50,000 IU - I take two capsules a month.
