My parents live in another suburb of phoenix. Basically, I live in North Phoenix and they live in the far East Phoenix. It's about a 45 minute drive to their house. They're close to Tempe where the Ironman race will be this weekend so less of a drive for hubby and I to volunteer.
Going for my long run this morning. Supposed to be 13 miles. Phew! Then I'm making breakfast for everyone and we're heading out to our volunteer meeting, and then to my parents house. My parents will grab the kids and head up here to my house and then the hubby and I have the rest of the day to hang out together! We have to be to the ironman tomorrow morning around 4/4:15 for our first volunteer shift. So a long day for us tomorrow! We are doing body marking first, then a run aid station, and then at the end of the day we are finish line catchers. I'm excited to see how the race worms and everything! The next day will be early again as we get in line for my hubby to register for the ironman for next year.
In other news, we found a part of our floor molding damaged by termites. We had a termite problem a couple of times when we first got the house, but not in a while. We're not sure if this is new damage or just old damage we hadn't seen when we had them. So we cleaned it out and now just waiting and seeing if anything new gets build. *sigh I got all our laundry done, and our house ready to swap, and my hubby and I packed. I'm ready for a fun weekend! I'll try to check in, but it might not be until Tuesday with all the early mornings.
Have a great weekend!0 -
Bummer about termites, you would think in your area with all the dry heat you wouldn't get that problem.
Funny every time I come here all proud of myself for walking more miles on steeper part of trail I read did marathon, run 13 miles and feel like my stuff is pathetic! lol
No worries I am sure most of you are at least 20 years younger than me (I am 59) so when I was younger was when I hiked to top of Half Dome in Yosemite. I am just grateful I am getting in better shape.
Was feeling out of it from taking so many days off in the heat and with rash this summer.
Yesterday I went almost 5 miles and a bunch of steep part of trail. Felt great, I walked all the way down to ocean then walked on the beach.
Today hubby and I are going to just walk on beach, he hates any up and down so I do the flat stuff with him.
Just bought cooking pumpkin, my daughter showed me how to bake and make pumpkin bread from scratch.0
