How often do you weigh yourself?

It all depends on how you are affected mentally by the scale.
I've lost 54 lbs since June. I weigh once a week. Looking at my scale did not cause one of those lbs to go away.
My emotional state is personally my biggest battle. The literal ups and downs of daily or more weighing would be more than I can handle . I have so much weight to lose that I must FIGHT for a healthy long term mindset, and the scale can be an enemy in that regard.
If weighing 3x a day helps, go for it! If not, there is really NO reason to HAVE to weigh at all.0 -

Twice a month works for me.
I have to keep up my diabetes & carb log
that's enough to keep me busy.

I have been weighing monthly, but this week I'm going to start doing it every Saturday to get a better idea of where I am.0

I used to avoid the scale completely. Was a terrible mistake losing that accountability to myself. Since being LCHF I weigh almost everyday. It's a rollercoaster ride, but the trend is down, and that's most important. Daily fluctuations will happen, and were likely the reason that I gave up many times, in the past, thinking I was wasting my time. Let it be the number that it is, and focus on how you feel instead.0

I do have to remind myself not to take the number on the scale too seriously but I honestly think that in my case, by weighing every day and watching the crazy charting that it creates is actually illustrating how the ups and downs are expected and normal and don't actually delay progress for me in a way that's helping me to be more ok with it. I think it's helping me to see the "up days" as a non-issue now where they really bugged me before.
This month I've tracked almost daily, where I used to only log the new low weights. I actually really like seeing how crazy it looks charted!

I weigh myself a couple times a day, but only log it weekly. I like to know how i'm progressing over the week, but I realize that daily fluctuations would be crazy to try to log and don't really represent what's happening. I was weighing on Fridays, but starting next week I'll be weighing on Mondays for a "Maintain, Don't Gain" 2 month program at work to get through the holidays. I hope to actually lose during this time, but this will help me be accountable.0

I'm the same @Sunny_Bunny_. I didn't want to Log the scale jumps, but have now learned its part of the process, and don't let it bother me. I also like seeing it on the report too. This woe changes how we look at weight loss, and achieving health in so many wonderful ways. Control over food is awesome, but the control over the scale has been amazing too!

Wanted to post this in my last comment: MFP Report,
It's been a heck of a ride, but I'm so glad that I've continued to eat this way!

I use Libra to weigh in daily because I like to see the trend over time. I only log in MFP once a week, usually on Friday mornings.0

I weigh daily. I find the ups and downs interesting and reassuring.
My challenge is to keep weighing even if I am eating less than ideal. I tend to put my head in the sand at those times and pretend it isn't happening.... Gotta work on that for maintenance, when I get there.0 -

If I weigh once per week I'm almost guaranteed to see a loss - even just a small one. Then there are the weeks where the loss is significant and the feeling is a tremendous boost for my spirits.
I feel the same way. The daily fluctuations have a way of getting in my head. Once a week is plenty.0 -
I don't allow it to mess with my head. As long as I know what's going into my mouth is right, then I know the scale is wrong.0

I weigh always after I wake and fasted in the morning then I also sometimes weigh before I go to bed, just out of curiosity. I have to weigh every morning to keep me accountable.0

@Sunny_bunny_ That's a nice graph you have. Is it an app or did you make it??0

It's the iPhone Health App
It makes graphs for just about anything health related.... Except tracking ketones. Lol
I'm using the blood alcohol chart for my experiment in tracking ketones 3 times a day this week. It's weird to record having a 40% blood alcohol content!

I weigh daily, in the morning with an empty stomach and before I start filling it. I consider it 'data collection' not 'judgement time.' Because I don't change up what I'm doing very much, I know I can pretty much KCKO.
On the other hand, my body reacts pretty quickly to what I change. I dropped Dairy last week and the scale reacted the very next day. If I only weighed once per week it would have been a nice drop to see all at once, but at the same time, I might not have been motivated to keep avoiding the cream in my coffee that I love so much.
With the knowledge that cream and cheese seem to limit my success in losing weight, I also am armed with a plan for maintenance (just add it back!).
You'd also think that going over by nearly 1,000 calories every day (Mmm pork belly!) I'd see an upward shift. But nope. Down and down. Weighing daily keeps me from dreading the scale all week (it would be nice to be wrong when I finally did weigh but added stress might prevent weight loss, so :P Also I might NOT have eaten all that delicious pork belly all week, and wouldn't know my body was enjoying that extra fat energy.)
So for me, who loves data and dorks out on observing trends, weighing daily is not an issue.
My husband is the opposite. He reacts to every shift immediately, stresses over it, obsesses, and it increases his cortisol for sure. So he weighs once a month and enjoys seeing drops in the double-digits.
Gotta do you.0 -
Oh, and regarding your MFP weights.. the browser "Reports" page only displays up to 1 year, but the measurements are still in there. If you use the app, you can view the chart for "All Time," and back in the browser, if you visit Edit previous entries they're all still there.0

Just about every morning.0

I love hearing your stories, folks. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences! This is really helping me figure out how often I should weigh0

I weigh myself daily: unless I'm dealing with TOM bloating. But, I also use the iPhone app "Happy Scale" which calculates my moving averages for my weight. It is the Happy Scale number that I use as my "official" weight. The moving average can be more, or less, than what the scale reads.0

I'm sort of random about weighing. I have gone as long as several months without weighing. Then there are times when I weigh several times a week or once a week just for curiosity. The number on the scale really doesn't bother me that much, especially when the inches keep shrinking.0
-
The other day I made a ketones category in my MFP goals. Neagtive is 0, trace is 1, small is 2, etc. Charts for ketones can "sort-of" be done.0
-
I weigh once or twice a week depending on how I think I did during that time.0

Naked every morning after visiting the bathroom.... Well technically I'm still in the bathroom, and before my coffee.0
