Choose a Couch to 5k app or podcasts and just follow it. They last about 8-9 weeks depending on which one you choose. Some have you running a set distance, some for a set time. Just go out and do it and have fun!0

I second this! I am on week 9 now and was never a runner before. You CAN do it!0 -
If you haven't been very active start by walking three miles and see where that leads you. I walk everywhere I can. 2.5 miles round trip to Sam's Deli for lunch (Jeez, I sound like Jared and Subway), one mile each way to work. Once that is easy start a C25K routine. I just started the one by Zen Labs last week and it is great.0

I am starting VERY slowly as I don't like to run in the first place but want to be able to keep up with my soccer playing daughter (or at least not fall over and die too soon). I am doing 2 c25K workouts a week and doing each week twice. it is up to you how you progrqass through the steps. listen to your body and don't move on until you feel you can feel comfortable (this is a relative term) doing so. I never feel "comfortable" moving to the next step but at least I feel I can accomplish it without fainting before the end of the allotted time.0
