when do the cravings go away?

I've only been doing Atkins a few days, but when do the cravings for sweets and crab filled junk go away? I've been good so far but it gets so hard sometimes

It got easier for me after about a week. I would still love to eat sweets but it doesn't feel like a "need" anymore.0

Artificial sweeteners can cause cravings for sweets, so keep that in mind... I love the atkins bars, but I can easily eat a box of them once I get started.0

The cravings went away within a couple of weeks for me. I did find that the lower I went with my carbs the less hungry I felt too! Best of luck to you OP!0

5 months later & ice cream is my only craving still, about 3 times a week, but have only circummed a few times.
I used to eat a lot of other bakery items but not interested at all after a few weeks, yes it did take that long to get through a lifetime addiction. Now the thought of pastries etc repulses me.0 -
Many find it easier to allow more food that does fit the plan to help deal with the carb cravings in the beginning. Often the advice to not count calories at the start is recommended so that it's a little easier. Make sure you're getting enough fats first thing in the morning to get yourself started out right with hunger control. If you can avoid feeling hungry, it will help your will stay stronger for fighting off the carb cravings. And if you absolutely must have something sweet, try a square of 86% dark chocolate like Green & Blacks or Lindt. Or a cup of coffee or tea, Keto style with heavy cream and minimal liquid sweetener. It might be just enough to keep your will power in the lead!0

Hey @Sue, why don't you make yourself some homemade LCHF ice cream? I do. I've made several different kinds and they have all tasted hands down way better than any ice cream I bought from a store! And there are tons of free LCHF recipes out there online too!0 -

This, I had gone with out sweeteners for weeks then had something with it in it and the next day I wanted anything and everything sweet! Since then I haven't had any sweeteners and not had the problems again! Also like sunny said fats help so if your not getting enough it is my experience that I get hungry more often.0
