No-Gain November Week 4 Check-In (11/23-11/30)

SW: 150.6 as of 11/2 when I started keto
CW: 143.4 this morning this morning
GW: 133ish (more concerned with measurements/clothing fit)
So down 7.2 lbs total. Which overall is good but I hit 142 back on 11/17 and again on 11/27 but have overall bounced back up a little/plateaued over the past 2 weeks. Trying not to get discouraged but it seems early on this WOE to plateau and for me in the past, if I plateau this early with a new WOE it never bodes well. (When I did Dukan I had a similar initial bigger weight loss but then kept losing 1-2 lbs a week til I hit goal.)
Monthly Goals:
* Stay under 20gm net carbs daily (experimenting; might increase this is a bit):
UPDATE: SEMI-CHECK. I did experiment with this a bit, went up to 30 net but now back under 20 net.
* Hopefully lose at least 1lb/wk. Two would be great. I'd have to lose 8 to hit my Transformer DietBet goal for this month since I bombed month 2.
UPDATE: By averages, yes, but not by week. Down 7.2 lbs after 1 month.
* Exercise at least 3x/wk and start incorporating more HIIT and strength training
UPDATE: Ran at least 3x/wk, not much HIIT or strength yet.
* Run 5K Thanksgiving morning
UPDATE: Check! Almost 4 mins slower than my PR but I'm just sloowly coming back from injuries and still haven't regained stamina since starting keto so I was OK with a 33:17 5K.

November Drumsticks of Meatiness Collected!
Starting weight this month: 153.4
Lowest weight this month: 150.6
Weight today: 152.4
So if we base my progress just on my weight the 1st and last days of the month, I lost a lb.
I also hit my lowest adult weight ever. Even though it bounced back up because:
1. My body is a jerk
2. TOM
3. My BIL is a jerk that carb-otaged me.
4. I had, and possibly still have a bit of, a kidney infection.
So I call success. I am at this moment 2.4lb to my goal weight. My weight does this malarkey all the time. Up, down, around, do-si-do.
My low was lower than ever. I'll get there. I'm pleased with what I've learned from my mistakes. I am hoping that my goofy weight will go down and stay next month. Patience.

Okay I'm so far behind I'm going to sum up 11/19 - 11/30:
Once I was off work for the week starting 11/21, there were four days where my water was extremely low.
Because of dehydration I did dip below 140, which was my monthly goal. So, yay? Except it was of course a dry sponge weight, so meh.
I largely did not achieve my step goal for this period. I think for 3 days I maybe did. One day I certainly did, but forgot my fitbit on the charger. doh!
I went over my 30g carb limit for a couple days, Thanksgiving and the leftover days that followed, but my net were still under 50g, which was my plan. So a very successful LCHF holiday!
After Tuesday the 24th I didn't bother trying to avoid dairy, just didn't have allllll the dairy I would have normally.
Weight crept up a couple days, but mostly is on track. I was 142.8 this morning.
Walking around doing whatever I was doing was my main exercise. Haven't really gotten any intentional workouts in since my grandmother died. I'm not sure they're related, I was also focusing on getting up early to write, but who knows how this gray squishy matter in my skull works?
What else? Oh, of course I tracked every day, and weighed every day.
So there. Good month, though I'm not sure the challenge was the reason for it. I love reporting, though, so more is always better. And I had fun checking in with all of you!
Lemme go see what this December challenge is all about...0 -
Original goals for the month:
SW - 170
GW - 165 (can I lose 5 lbs over my birthday and Thanksgiving?)
1. Log daily
2. Stay under 40 carbs per day
3. Drink at least 80 oz of water per day
4. Get 10,000 steps per day (lets see if I can do better than last month)
Ok, so my final results for November are
SW - 170
Ending weight was 168, so I will call it a success for No-Gain November! I had a couple of jumps up with 2 work trips, my birthday and Thanksgiving in there, so I am ok with that result.
Now on to the December challenge!!!0
