11 days in and 10 pounds lost!

So, it has been 11 days since I *officially* started the Insulin-Resistance Diet. And as of this morning, I have lost 10 pounds! I know this was not all fat loss and I know the weight loss will slow down (In total, I have about 105 more to lose), but this great start has me super motivated.
What is even more shocking to me is how GOOD I feel. I don't feel as bloated and my stomach area almost has a cavernous feeling to it, but not a hungry feeling.....does that make sense? Anyways, I am at the point now where my hunger seems to be in check (not consistently hungry during the day) and I have more energy. I am going to start incorporating some exercise into my days, probably some cardio and body weight/strength training exercises to start.
I don't know why I have fought myself all these years about my WOE. My doctor has been on me for a VERY long time about going more low gi, cutting carbs, cutting sugar, etc. and I always fought it because I didn't want to give up on the food I loved. I thought CICO was enough to lose the weight, but that was just not working. Unfortunately, it has taken fertility problems for me to come to my senses and really start changing. I think I am finally coming to accept that this WOE is the right thing for me and that if done correctly, I can be successful in losing this weight I have been carrying around for years and get healthier too!
So basically, this is just a big thank you for everyone that directed me to this group from the main forum and for the support you have provided so far. I have learned a lot from you guys (mainly about sodium and fat intake!) in a short time and look forward to continuing to improve myself and learning about this WOE.
I have had a great start, but I know it will not always be this easy and that I may get frustrated or plateau. I expect the challenges to come, but for now I am really enjoying the benefits I am seeing and feeling so far!

It seems like you have a good understanding of what to expect and that really helps a lot when the slow down/stall does finally hit. Remembering that it is about health and not about a number on the scale will help you get through it.
Great job on making a solid start!0 -
Sounds like you are doing great! Congrats!
I felt the same way. I felt so good within a couple of weeks that I was kicking myself for not having done this earlier.0 -
Feeling "thin" came very fast for me too! It's a wonderful feeling! Hope you've measured yourself too! I'm so happy for your success! Look forward to hearing about more!0

I love that effect of not being bloated by eating Keto. For YEARS my belly would be so distended at the end of the day and I'd look like I was 5 months pregnant. Now, my tummy stays flat all stinkin' day!! Yeah!!0

Congrats! It does take some time to get it with "Insulin Resistance" and what that really means. My doc and nutritionist explained the whole problem with it. But it took a little while to finally "get it" Remember there will be some stalls now and then, but I think your body is just adjusting! This is a great place to be on MFP. Best wishes on your new WOE and your journey.0

@MaggieLoo79 It is based on a book. It is about linking certain foods together to minimize the impact of the carbs. I have insulin resistance, and it doesn't not work well for me. It is like a variation type of low carb dietary plan...0 -
