Got a new Doctor, and he doesn't suck!

My old family Doctor retired recently leaving me Doctor'less since June. Where I live it can sometimes be a challenge to find a Dog that is accepting new patients, so I was happy when a friend recommend his guy. Today I met the new Doc for the first time and I was a bit nervous due to my weight. Turns out I needn't have worried. He was great. I told him about my new WOE and he was very supportive. He agreed to run some blood work just to make sure all was good. I'm very happy.

No sucking doctors are in demand for sure. Glad the change was for the better.

Just note that as you lose weight on low carb, that your lipid tests will look bad during the time that you are losing. Don't deviate if doc says things are going worse with your lipids. Do not go on statin drugs. After you lose the weight, your lipids will be normal and/or improved.

For more info, read a really good book called: "Cholesterol Clarity". It's in layman terms, short chapters and if you don't want to real all the chapters, there's a summary at the end of the chapter you could read in lieu of the whole chapter. Amazing book.

    I hope this helps,

Yes to what Dan states and I got the book at his suggestion which is easy to understand.

Sadly my life insurance renewal came up while my weight was dropping and they wanted to double the new quote I was given by the agent when I went to renew.

If one is going to be tested for anything that can raise one's cost please stop losing weight at least 6-12 months out. My screwed up number in Aug that screwed me now are looking much better.

    Aug 2015/Nov 2015
    404/310 Total Cholesterol
    324/228 LDL
    56/72 HDL
    121/52 Triglycerides

The before my weight loss on LCHF my total cholesterol was like 215 but HDL was 38 and Triglycerides at around 200. Now we know the key concern is the Triglycerides/HDL ratio to predict death by heart disease with anything over 2 as increase risk of death and stuff.

That ratio when from 5.26 (very high danger zone) to an awesome 0.72 but they panic because they only look at the cholesterol numbers. I may just go with an accidental death policy and count on LCHF to keep me from dying of natural causes whatever that term means. :)

The book does cover all of these kinds of issues.

    thanks for that advice

ive never had any issues with cholesterol or blood sugar but i will keep this in mind with the new doctor

he seemed quite comfortable with the woe

the only thing he said was to be careful if or when trying to reintroduce carbs because it can be hard on the system

Yes, that is true. And you gain the weight back ferociously.
