Is it just me, or does anyone else have to buy a new strap every year? I just did a google search and found that apparently it's a common occurrence when fall starts rolling around.

Yup, the soft straps tend to fail after a while, but the hard HR strap doesn't seem to have the same problem. I noticed that if you thrown the soft strap in the wash occasionally, it helps prolong the life. Unfortunately, with the 920, you have to stick with the soft strap if you want the running dynamics.0

Not every year but I am on my second strap. The first one would start reading erratically (like shooting up to 200 during a recovery). Replacing the battery didn't help either.0

Yes, but REI has been really good about replacing them0

I switched over to a Polar strap. My HRM for my 910 clipped right onto it and the strap is less prone to rolling up (for me). Might be an option worth looking in to.0
