Do you know anyone with Lupus?

I have Lupus SLE, RA and Fibromyalgia. This person couldn't have said it any better how Lupus affects your life, I feel for her and I know what she goes through. It's a sad existence and it takes a very patient individual to stay in a relationship when someone is ill. When I met my husband I was sick, I didn't know what it was but I knew it was getting worse. I knew I had been ill all of my life from around 7 years old or so. I couldn't run and play with the kids very well because the muscles in my legs hurt for days when I did. In school I was required to have outside play time and required to join in but it wasn't easy to do that. I had daily migraine headaches all of my life and it only got worse as time went on, I tried track and that was a killer, aye aye aye. I was diagnosed just about 6 months after we married, I was 38 years old. My husbands response was, "Finally, we have an answer". I was still sick though and it still took another 10 years to get down to the the final two. RA and Fibromyalgia.

Anyway, I just thought I would share a link to someone else's pain regarding Lupus. It isn't fun at all and it ruins your personal life.

Anew, I'm so sorry you've had to endure all of that. And your husband's response was perfect!

My previous, and favorite, boss was diagnosed with Lupus about a decade ago when she was in her mid-40s. Her skin breaks out all the time and wearing clothes is excruciating for her most of the time. She and her husband now sleep in separate bedrooms because she rarely sleeps and she retired a few years ago, but she's not in full retirement yet. She still works for us two days a week, but mostly is too ill to come in to the office and will work from home.

    It's an awful disease. :'(

I'm sorry about your friend Mygnsac, she would appear to have what is called Discoid Lupus, mine is SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythmatosis). Her's could develop into SLE, but I think she probably has far more pain than I do with the skin lesions. I can't even imagine what that would be like and yes it is an awful disease to have. Here's a link with more info on both kinds if you're interested in reading.
